Let's just call this a culture clash and be done with it

We all hope he is ok and that's the main thing.

I hope that everything's fine on his life, but on the other hand I don't miss him a bit. He caused problems and bad blood in these forums for 10 years and now that this have stopped I won't complain a bit. He should have been permanently banned many many years ago. But again, I hope he is well.

but I have noticed over the months how boring and bland this forum has become .. Somedays  I check in and look to see who is here ( by monitoring the forum tab- looking to the bottom of page) .. and see I am the only one here ..
The movies have become mundane and boring as well as most of us these days are not buying a lot of new titles .. and.... we are watching a Lot of streaming videos therefore not purchasing the hard copy first and thus striking that title off the wish list ... DVD's and Blu ray sales ( including paid theater admissions)  are slowing down and will eventually, maybe,  drop from site ..

maybe Skip has seen this?  and jumped to a new ship of fools .......

I'm not sure that is a general case. In fact I don't know. What I'm sure is that I never watched any movie on streaming video, and never bought more DVDs+Blu-rays in one year than I did in 2011.

In my area of Canada all the Blockbuster and Rogers Video store are closing down... only a few mom and pop shop are still open .. I guess it must be a Canadian thing .. \\

Are all the Major Blockbuster and whatever else still up and running in your area or neighborhood??..

if not let us know.. why is this.. ?  Can't be streaming videos as I have now had 3  members here saying likewise...

All the Blockbusters/Hollywood Video stores have closed in my area...not that it matters to me as I rarely used tham anyway.  If I want to watch a film, I buy it.  I just started using Netflix, last month, but only to watch ST: Voyager.  I have never had the desire to stream a movie.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Yeah... they are mostly all closed around me too.

But do have those redboxes popping up all over the place!

Did a cable on-demand movie for my son once when he was sick, and streamed 1 free show from Amazon for myself, but have $7 or so credit there for over a year and no plans to use it.

Not me, I don't watch streaming video (I don't even download the digital copy when I've a code for it). I don't buy as much as would like too, but I buy everything I watch (no renting, no theatre and no download for me).

Supporting the labels is more important for me than saving a couple of bucks, anyway I'm friend with many label owners and I'm always there to help a friend when he need me.

they were never successfull in my area, here it's small store all the way and everytime a big one did try to open it was a failure...
