But I have a plan. I now buy mostly BluRay........ the mesdemoiselles Mole only have playback facilities for DVDs!

Until the young ladies tell you they need a new laptop for college and the new one has a Bluray player in it. LOL Tell me about it! In the case of daughter #2 it was £171 worth of Razer Chimaera 5.1 headphones (Mass Effect 3 edition) for Xmas. We packed both of them off to uni with high spec. gaming machines that I built, with the expectation that they'll last the 3/4 years until they graduate....then the little darlings will get highly paid employment, and be able to buy their own d@mn PCs... Sometimes that leads to scratches that make them unreadable (I had that only once or twice so far). If I like the movie enough, I get a new copy which by then has dropped in price dramatically anyway (usually to be found in the bargain bin).
Bu before I put them back into the shelves when I'm eventually cleaning up I check if all the discs are in the right cases.
Unfortunately I still lost a disc. I recently wanted to watch Glee: The Concert Movie and it wasn't in the case. I have no idea in what case it could have ended up and I'm not overly keen on opening my 1300 cases just to find it. | | | Karsten

I had a few go "missing" as long term loans but I did get them back.
I have Bruce Almighty that looks like someone tried to push a nail through it, not sure how that kind of damage happened.
What I do for unplayable discs is they are movied to my junk category, the count as is set to 0 and the collection number is removed.
When I get a DVD that have replaced with a BR I move it to the dups, remove it from the juke box ( clearing out a slot ) and put it into a binder of my dups with the slip cover.
