But since especially the "Low-Budget" SSDs have a large variety in quality, I'd recommend to check out for user reviews of the product in question. Agree. Especially since in some places in the world buying a low-budget SSD is much the same price as buying a WD Black 1TB - trying to convince people to double their outlay on the disk component of their system just doesn't hold water, especially when that low-budget SSD is only 60 or 120GB. I'm starting to get the impression of this thread that most DvdProfiler owners seem to be financially well off, I never thought that way before. Maybe I need to win lotto to start participating here. |

I would have been financially well off if I hadn't wasted all my money on buying movies. But seriously, even a cheap and small SSD will do wonders for most systems. And if you don't need it, don't buy it, simple as that. Personally, I went for a relatively cheap Intel drive for my media pc and keep most of my data on the NAS. Don't assume. I've seen many messages from people who collect discs but feel they can't afford to buy the program. (Translation: they'd rather buy two more discs than pay the program cost. <shrug>) I also suspect there is a higher than average tech (geek) background around here and people would rather have cool toys than eat. While I guess I have a few "toys", I currently don't see the great advantage with SSD's (for the price). If I was in the USA though I'd most probably pay for that Microsoft service that cleans out all the old code and stuff from your Win7 installation and speeds things up a fair bit. And I do have my own proof that disk defragmentation does work (using the right app of course). |
