(and the other two) My experience makes me think that threads which discuss why things are bad break down (often immediately) into either "quit liking what I don't like" or the opposite. That's an advantage I (as a dreary pessimist) have over optimists: I can enjoy when things turn out right, even when they are imperfect. I really love Twilight.

In this regard I was the false audience for "The Squid and the Whale", which I still have in my collection for being part of a boxset.
"Hate", now would be a too strong word for this. I don't consider movies important enough to develop feelings like "hate". | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| | Posted: | | | | Film, is i say. One of the most subjective, art-forms. There will never be a an overall consensus, of opinion, on any film. While the majority might like, a particular film. It will always have it's haters. This is just the nature, of the art-form.
I find this to be one of films, greatest strengths. Giving the medium a diversity, that creates appeal at all levels. I find though, that those that dismiss films, for various technical reasons. With the production. Are the poorest, among film buffs.
If a film is entertaining, then i don't feel, there is need to give scathing, criticism. For it's script, cinematography, direction, acting ect.

I'm sure Pete won't be surprise to see it's the one I remember renting that one. I think I lasted about 20 or so minutes before I fast-forwarded to the end. I can usually give just about any movie a chance and watch it until the end credits...but i could tell that this was completely worthless and not even worth that! I am pretty sure Pete even sent me a PM a long time ago asking about some Horror movies and my opinions of them, and I warned him.  Quoting Jimmy S: Quote:

It makes the Star Wars prequels look positively brilliant in comparison. And no, I don't own it. Not even the Director's Version or whatever that sad excuse of "fixing" it was called. I even took a film class as part of my psychology degree at the University. The reason I asked for most disliked/hated movie is simply this. If I had asked all of you your favorite films I would have received 100 posts of the same/same kind of films. I am honestly tired of AFI's top 100 or Top 10 this or that. If you ask for the bad movies you find the diamonds in the rough. As for being negative, I am not; even though things are going on in my life which could easily allow me to be. I have never in the years I have been on here and I have been here since the Intervocative days purposely posted anything to cause a crap storm. That doesn't mean I haven't had opinions which pissed others off it just means I never had bad intent. I would like to see all of the forum rules evenly enforced no matter the topic or poster but that is neither here nor there. As for Gone with the Wind, wife loves it I could take it or leave it. The Godfather is one of my favorite films of all time. Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes. I also enjoy musicals and while Breakfast at Tiffany's is not the greatest one it is where I fell in love with Moon River. As for Vibro I love the fact you play the Ukulele, I have never known anyone who has and always thought they produced the most interesting and fun music. |
