I think Lewis_Prothero means: If the role(s) listed in the credits extend past the character length limit of the data field, then add a new one immediately following the first one and continue there.

(Although I'm not sure this is correct, it seems to be a common convention rather than a rule.)

Thanks, that's exactly what I meant.

You would add Whoopi Goldberg with a role of Sister Mary Clarence, tick the uncred box and place her alphabetically in the uncred section at the end of the cast section.

No!
In this case you wouldn't, at least not as long as you wouldn't enter Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman exactly this way in Mrs. Doubtfire or Tootsie.

Dolores is Sister Mary

Thanks for clearing that up. And to Kino also.

and agree with the second portion. Anybody called by a nickname in a movie that differs from the credit roll name would be getting a uncredited listing also. That would be a train wreck.

If the second role is not listed at all in the credits, add the actor again as uncredited with that role at the end of your cast list.

I am sorry, but this is not true...at least not for this film.  Goldberg does not play two different characters, she plays one character who assumes a new name in order to hide out.  This is not the same as an actor playing multiple characters...Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, Marty McFly, Jr. and Marlene McFly in Back to the Future Part II.

Edit:  I see that I should have read to the end as the answer was already given.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Yes, of course.
My response was having in mind two separate roles. Of course if it is just another alias for the same role, then adding it as uncredited is wrong.
