I think that depends on your definition of "released".

Nope, not on his definition but on the definition of the Contribution Rules.

Then please tell me, where in The Rules the word Release or released is defined...

Because why would you need the UPC for a box set?

To enter the, then, box-set-child according to the Contribution Rules.

I think you misunderstood me. Why does a media company produce blu-rays with an UPC if not to sell them individually. I wasn't talking about the DVDP database.

As far as I understand the rules LKanne is 100% right.
Is this unfavorable for the buyers of the single releases? Yes.
Would an exemption for this very particular instance make the contribution process as a whole easier? No.

That's not as clear in my opinion because:

I checked the rules and the only thing they address is that it needs to be the SRP at the time of the original release.

Box Set rules do not address this issue at all.

And if you define release as the time you can buy an individual UPC (and therefore profile), then the contribution would be right.

"DVD Release Date
Use the date when the DVD was first released for sale in its specific locality."
It was for sale, in a box-set. With one UPC for the box and 3 UPCs for each individual movie which are childs to the parent.

Don't know, don't care what the media company was thinking or not.
There was a legitimate release, it was entered correctly, end of story.

Mayor rewrite? I thought there was a rule against politics.

Mayor, major, mayonnaise ... all the same to me

I wrote "Major" but then thought "No wait, that is the army-rank" and corrected it.

Actually it's not that easy. But I feel that I can't convince you otherwise, so I think a further discussion is moot.
