I still don't understand what anyone would want it unchecked.  I get the part about wanting to be consistent and follow the rules, but IMO there isn't one in this case.  What good does it do to have one checked but the other one not?  It's exactly the same case and slipcover.  I understand why it is with others, as the slipcase is like the parent, and the case inside is the child.  But in this case they are one and the same.

I'm a little late to this party, but I have to agree.  While this makes sense for Box Sets that include cases inside of cases, this makes no sense for a single title release with an optional child profile.  I also agree that the rule doesn't cover this particular case.

I absolutely agree as well.  It only makes sense for Box Sets that include cases inside of cases, and I also agree from the image aspect as well.

When I downloaded child profiles (don't any longer), I always had the slip cover checked. I agree with others, doesn't make sense but there are a few instances in the rules I don't quite understand (i.e. only allowed to credit the film editor if listed in the main credits while if credited in the end credit scroll, and not under a unit heading, is not... we often credit more than one costume designer both in opening and end credits). Sorry for the ran there, but you get the point.

I agree with the SC folks here.

IF the child profile has the same case type and the same cover type, it should have the SC checkbox.

There are two instances (I can think of) where this can happen:
1) TV show child profiles in a single case (be it a season or a complete series)
2) DVD child of a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

I will bring this into the rules forum.

Fair enough, although I'm still waiting to see how the contrary is a 'rule' in the first place.
