Erm, did you watch Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness? Courageous, JJ is not. He changed the whole Star Trek galaxy back story in the first one so much that half the fans almost exploded... Phaw. Trekkers have survived worse, look at Voyager. But both movies were slight variations of the pre-existing movies. He plundered and looted plot elements from the most popular installments and created a potpourri - not unlike what he did with Star Wars now. Neither the two Star Trek nor the new Star Wars bring anything new to the table, it's all a "been there, seen that" just with a lot of lens flare and modern CGI. As I said he's like a good Queen cover band, playing all the favourite tunes. But he will never compose a Bohemian Rhapsody of his own. | | | Karsten

I will not use the "eat faeces, one billion flies can't err" analogy, I will only say this: Cinema has become a theme park with an extremely cool rollercoaster.
