And he didn't give Iniesta a red card for his push on van Bommel without ball insight. He didn't give the clear foul on Robben when he broke thought he second time. He didn't give a corner after the Sneijder free kick, the following goal kick led to the goal. And the goal was offside, look at the first intercepted pass. Clearly offside.
Paul Besides all that, the foul on van Persie should have been red also. The way to the goal was clear. Fouling a player when he has a clear way to the goal is a red card (Goalkeeper doesn't count). So if the referee was doing his job correctly, 2 players from Spain would have been off the field. Counting De Jong's foul as a red card, it still would have been 9 against 10. It would have been a totally different match. | | | Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: 'WOW What a Ride!!! |

It would have been a totally different match. I agree, in all the commotion of the last few minutes i forgot that situation! Webb is a very poor referee, not only this match, also in Euro 2008 (3 yellow cards for 1 player!) and pretty much every Premier League match he leads. He should just go back to being a cop. I agree with TheDarkKnight as well. How FIFA comes up with 96% is unknown to anyone. Taro, is think de Jong's kick was accidental, although he clearly is a player that's always near, and sometimes over the line of what's acceptable. Also, don't get your hopes up for technology. It was supposed to be discussed this month, no they 'discus' it in October, probably to come to the conclusion it's not implementable. Maybe they'll do as the UEFA does in the Euro League, a fifth and sixth official after the goal line, and we've seen what a difference they made! (not) And to quote Ricky Bobby, If your not first, your last! So i can't be happy with a second place. Paul |
