| Posted: | | | | A few weeks ago I watched Screamers (based on the short story Second Variety by Philip K. Dick) and in that, there was a short, but cool SM shot of one of the little robot beasties. I was quite excited to see that. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

| Posted: | | | | All the fully stop-motion films I know have already been listed, but two more well-known films that have a bit of it in that are worth looking at are:
Robocop (the ED-209) Terminator (the full-skeleton terminator in the the final scene)
I also have the Jurassic Park box set, and on the extras there is some awesome test footage that doesn't look like normal stop-motion because they have somehow incorporated motion-blur. |

Yeah, it's amazing what motion-blur can do. I think that's why some of the big-budget SM of late has looked so much smoother. Although I still think the jitteriness can have its appeal, in a long short or feature film, the motion-blur makes it more accessible. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

| Posted: | | | | Flushed Away isn't stop motion but as its an Aardman/Dreamworks collaboration it's done in the same style as Wallace and Gromit. I found it to be quite funny. |

Fans of Svankmajer might want to also check out Jiri Barta, available on DVD as Jiri Barta: Labyrinth of Darkness - a collection of his 8 shorts released a couple years ago by Kino on the KimStim label, and is region free. (NTSC) For some family fun, a short lived 1994 TV series called Bump In The Night has a few of its episodes currently out on DVD released by N-Circle for dirt cheap, and also a Christmas special. | | | Last edited: by Cyclograph |
