I started to post my thoughts before, then thought better of it and hit the back button without saving anythng.

Darxon expressed what I feel.  I think things have reached the point that whenever one of these two guys posts something (either Skip OR Hal), the other one thinks he has to jump in and criticize the other.  Both seem to be of the opinion that they only respond when they are "provoked" (though Skip is the only one who phrased it this way).

Please show me where at any time that I have called another user here "JERK" or "witless".

Posting a "Blah, blah, blah....." indicating that someone is being repetitive without adding anything new to the discussion, is far different than name calling and insulting people.

If you can't make that disctinction, then there's not much I can say.
Hal

Yo hal, I thought you'd change your avatar to this. I am surprised that you didn't, because it's not stealing (as you called it).

I thought about it, but I've been using the eagle for so long, I'd feel like I'd lost my identity.

Why? We all know your name better (at least I do) and I think that picture suits you great. It's just a matter of getting used to it, I guess.

If you can't make that disctinction, then there's not much I can say.

What I recognize is you have cited a distinction without a difference.

My point was that you waste no time in posting your "blah, blah, blah..." whenever you see that Skip has posted something.  I'll grant you that it is not as insulting as calling someone a jerk or witless, but that doesn't mean it isn't insulting.  I am insulted when someone accuses me of being full of hot air - maybe not as much as if he said I was a jerk or witless, but I still view it as an insult.  It's merely a matter of degree.

By the way, your "blah, blah, blah..." postings don't add anything new to a discussion either.  You seem to believe that people reading this forum are to dumb to recognize that someone, Skip in this case, may be repetitive and that it's your duty to point it out to us.  This doesn't add anything to the discussion, In fact it detracts from the discussion because you KNOW Skip will feel the need to respond.

And if you can't see THIS, you are not as perceptive as I believe you to be.

Posting it N times is repetitive, though.

It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

The "blah, blah, blah...." posts are directed at one person and one person only and say nothing about what I think of anyone else on this forum and most certainly are not intended to imply that the other users are "too dumb to recognize..." in any way, shape or form.

There are people who repeat themselves without actually realizing it.  Not that I think that's the case here.

And you feel you actually need to  tell me that?

It is not meant to add to the discussion!  It is meant to express boredom with the constant repetition of the same old arguments over and over and over.  It is an expression of my frustration with what I perceive to be a bullying tactic.  I feel I have every right to express that frustration, just as you have the right to express your frustration with my "blah, blah, blah...." posts.

Have you made a similar protest in the "Blu ray/HD DVD" thread, or is your frustration selective?

Believe it or not the only response I am looking for is to get him to stop the repetition and what appears to be a concerted effort on his part to drown out the other opinions around here by using sheer volume of posts.  His belief seems to be "if I repeat myself 200 times, then everyone will see that I am right".  When Skip is in his"repeat" mode, there is no discussion going on anyway!

I have not, because I don't read the Blue ray/HD DVD thread.  At the present time - and for the forseeable future - I am not interested in the subject of Blue ray/HD DVD, so I ignore the thread.
