For the IE(7) user:
I found a solution for the IE7, you need:
  • IE 7 (I can't check it under IE6, perhaps it works)

  • IE7Pro

  • my Script for IE7

  • Unfortunately the behavior of the IE7Pro script differs from the GM script.
IE runs it after the site is loaded while GM runs it while the site is loading.
    This causes a slightly flickering.

Okay, the font is smaller now (about the same size of the original menu).
The separators were a little bit tricky, but I've found a solution:

Neither me! At least not on web pages!

P.S. This is of course not speaking against those add on scripts, but should be a hint for Ken that he doesn't have to change the layout IMO.

    Thanks for the Greasemonkey script!

I managed o find out why my menu  wasn't working on IE... it's because IE sucks and doesn't properly comply with HTML standards!  You would have thought that given the amount of time they've had to get it right, they might have improved compatibility with THE internet standard language.

Anyway, getting it working with embedded objects from the the same domain is reasonably straightforward (if a blatant bodge), but I wasn't able to find any way to get it working for a different domain. I've not exhausted all of my ideas, but I've already given it more time than I intended, and the stupidness of the problem combined with SH84's excellent work making it pretty much redundant has robbed me of my interest.

I've learned what I wanted, and I can't be arsed any more.

What's important is that I can take the credit for getting something funky done without actually having done any of the work!

Does this not violate Invelos's copyright for their forums/website?  I see this on the bottom of every page on the site:

My solution: No, I don't think so, I didn't change anything but the 8 links and I don't claim anything (please don't sue me Ken ).

PS: And in the end you are the one who changes the links (on your PC), you have to install the script and you can deactivate it anytime you want.

I always find copyright difficult to interpret. In the case of the IInvelos website, I might presume that an an infringement would include the copying of content, design, or code. If I had used the Invelos stylesheet (which I did consider to get the menu looking as close as possible), that may be considered an infringement. Linking to the siteicon (which I did) is almost certainly an infringement now that you mention it.

Displaying the whole content of the site as I did, that I'm not so sure about. You could say that it was a link to the Invelos site, which would be fine. However, you could interpret it as wholesale theft of content, even more so if it was copied and hosted without consent (which it wasn't - I only displayed the live site as part of mine).

Apart from use of the icon, I don't think that my attempt infringes on copyright, but it would be interesting to hear others interpretations (just because I'm interested in real-life application of copyright law). Even if it doesn't, I can't see how it hurts Invelos, and wold happily remove the site if requested (which I may do anyway as it's pretty useless).

Microsoft's mentality is that they'll make it function the way THEY want and then try to force everyone else (including the standards) to comply with them because everybody codes things to work in IE being that it's the current dominate browser.  Toss in that MS likes to provide "Microsoft Extensions" that provide neat-o stuff but requires you to use their software to take advantage of it or even to get the program to work (Java ring a bell?)

    All you need is:
  • Firefox,

  • Grasemonkey

  • The script

  • Any chance of getting this updated to include the new Reputation system?

I cannot say no to a bribe...

I've added some new features to the Greasemonkey version:
    - added invelos.com (without the www.) to the list of included websites
    - added a link to "My Collection" and "My Posts".
    - added a link to all Posts written by a user (see the little plus right next to his username).

I've integrated an image resizer in theInvelos Menu script and the drop-down Menu is optional now (of course it's activated by default).
All images wider than a set width will be resized. If you move your mouse over the image, you'll get the image in it's original size.

As you can see, you have four options (default values):
    New Invelos Menu on/off
    Image Resizer on/off
    -> Maximum imagesize (700)
    New Vote Viewer on/off
