The management came through and asked for people who were interested and everyone said they weren't interested. Then they came back through and asked whether we would work for time and a half...$1.85/hr. in my case who now we're cooking that's good money...or was once upon a time.

| | Posted: | | | | I spent two years (two separate one year tours) at Mare Island in Vallejo (north end of San Francisco Bay for those who don't know the area). I was single for the first tour, had a Honda 305 dirt bike and had a great time.
By the time of the second tour, I had just gotten married. Had to work a second full time job on graveyard shift at the Seven-Eleven just to make ends meet. That tour is more of a blur than anything, but my fond memories of SF persist to this day. | | | | Hal |
