What did you think of these movies (or at least the ones you've seen)? For anyone outside of Australia who liked The Castle you're at an advantage... you don't have to listen to Michael Caton running his "Tell him he's dreaming" line into the ground in advertising.
Do any of you above posters (or anyone following this) have Australian faves / Australian content in their collections? I have The Castle and Chopper. I really like both movies, but havnt seen the other ones listed. Also what about Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, Cyclone Tracy - 1986 TV Miniseries, The Night Prowler with Ruth Cracknell, Society Murders which is based on a true story, Wolf Creek and The Story Of The Kelly Gang. Some Australian TV shows that I have on DVD are: Young Talent Time, Fast Forward, Full Frontal, Mother And Son, The Norman Gunston Show, The Footy Show, The Chasers War On Everything, CNNNN, Bushfire Summer, The Comedy Company, Home And Away, Neighbours, Kath And Kim, Outback House, Prisoner Cell Block H, Round The Twist and Rove. Now that I have the DVD with the Australian track, I certainly prefer it. I hate it when the distributors here think we need to be protected from "foreign"-sounding speakers. Like when the Discovery Channel re-edited Planet Earth to replace the David Attenborough narrative with Sigourney Weaver. She's okay, but she's no David Attenborough. I never watched Planet Earth on Discovery for just that reason. They've done the same thing with Meerkat Manor which airs on Animal Planet (owned by the same folk as Discovery Channel). They substituted Sean Astin as narrator for David Attenborough (though the Australian version has someone else doing the narrative, I believe). I've gotten hooked on it despite Sean Astin. I just wish I had the chance to see how it goes with Attenborough's narration. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole)
