| Posted: | | | | That's a really ... strange ... thing to do. It's not like our reviewers don't have enough profiles to review as it is.
Agreed that the contribution count is pointless. It commands only a minute fraction of a minute amount of respect, not enough to try to boister artificially - if that's what actually going on. I think the count should be a private thing anyways. |

I think the count should be a private thing anyways. You would be surprised at the number of people who think that number is a very important thing. So much so that they believe they, and their opinions, are better and more important than people who's number is not as large. Because of that, I agree with you, the number should be private. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | This problem was also at the origin of pingponging. The system rules + votes "per the rules" just made contributions a nightmare but didn't solve at all this problem.
I'm dreaming of a new system (I already spoke of it one year ago), with anonymous contributions, anonymous votes based on the value of the contribution (do you think this contribution is interesting for the online ?) Majority of yes gives +1, majority of no costs -1.
Then Ken shows the list of best (most value to the database) contributors... | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

In the past month you have submitted 8 contributions to the UK DVD of the Living Daylights, usually just adding one crew member at a time. You told me last week that you were going to stop doing this but, lo and behold, this morning there's yet another contribution from you. Trying to get your contribution count up? Why? It's not a competition. You should be ashamed of yourself to belie these contributions. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. | Posted: | | | | I've had a look at the contribution notes for that and would agree with Kevin Coed on this one. Adding ONE crew member at a time, every week is crazy. It's not like one person had been missed off and you're adding them. |

While there is an explanation, of sorts, in the notes, contributions should not be done like that. If the first contribution gets declined, one shouldn't submit 8 contributions with a single change in each, they should try and figure out why it got declined in the first place. Edit: I see bbbbb responded while I was typing. As I just said, I did go an look so that I knew what was happening and my opinion has not changed. That is not the way to go about it as all it does is cause extra work for the screeners. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Therefore I added all 12 missing crew members all together, along with the other corrections. First. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. | Posted: | | | | The original contribution was declined so you're doing them independently?!? Why it was declined I don't know as I don't have the title & don't know what (if any) the "No" votes said. But you should still lump them in a single contribution making sure your notes accurately list what you're changing/adding. |

A Screener declined the first full contribution in this locality. Without giving any reason. So I did take the trouble to approach a solution. All Approved. On the second last contribution Kevin Coed asked me to "stop adding crew members one at a time, please". I answered him that I would. And I did. You know what? This sounds as it would be somehow against the rules to do one correction?!? In order to correct a contradictory decision by the Voters. You know what?
