That first post Taro linked to is unbelievable.  How ANYONE can excuse Skip is beyond me. Shame on Ken & Invelos for tolerating Skip and his ridiculous behavior.

I don't think anyone, though I could be wrong, has excused Skip's bad behavior.  What I, and my fellow bitches, have said is that we see no reason to make the forum atmosphere worse.

@ Taro, I was the one who commented about the size of your collection...I felt that we, who had small Asian collections, should not try and make decision for people who had large Asian collections, because they would be most affected.  It was a misunderstanding that I thought we had worked out and gotten past.  Since you mention it, clearly, I was wrong.  I am sorry to see you go and I am sorry if I caused you any discomfort. 

Why settle for not making it worse?  Between tolerating a negative atmosphere and not allowing the rules to be updated Ken & Invelos are showing a lack of regard for the user who make up this community.  I certainly can understand that you don't want it to get worse, but it's disappointing to see Invelos benefit (along with everyone that uses DVDProfiler) from everyone's hard work only to ignored and allow a negative atmosphere in the community because they can't be bothered to make changes that would improve the situation.  The moderators seem to have time to moderate the posts, but instead of going to the root of the problem they allow the negativity to fester and in the end good contributors leave because they get fed up with it.  The most troublesome aspect of some people's bad behavior is that not only to they continue to behave poorly but they do it with impunity.  I'm not just talking about Skip, people that don't like his behavior do it as well.  They might reason that if it was for not for Skip they wouldn't act that way, in some cases that might be true but in the end it isn't an excuse.  My biggest issue with Skip is his attitude, not only does he behave poorly but it appears to me that he doesn't think there is an issue with any of his posts.  But why should he?  He gets away with it, and at the end of the day that makes Invelos as complicit as Skip.

I'm a long time lurker and I benefit from everyone's contributions to the sight and the online database.  I've been using the program for years but only upgraded when the Profiler 3.0 was launched.  I appreciate the hard work everyone has done.  I just wish the powers that be showed that they actually cared about improving the situation instead of going through are removing personal attacks, why not find a cure instead of treating the symptoms.

If you were, banned, that is simply inexcusable. I figured invelos just doesn't like banning people. If they banned you and not certain other poster (one in particular) the moderation system is broken from the bottom up.

I am also sorry to see you go Taro. The forums will be poorer without you.

It's a shame we have a thread like this every so often. There is a common thread running through a good many of them but I, like most others, have resigned myself that it won't be addressed so work around it. I can quite see though why you would not wish to do the same.

The point is...Skip shouldn't be allowed to hassle anyone.  No one should be allowed to do it.  The atmosphere around here can be improved.  It's just that those who have the power to do something about it aren't doing anything!  Users are allowed to be mean, hassle others...pretty much allowed to be cruel idiots to others who don't think like they do.  It's no wonder that users like Taro feel like the only left to do is leave.  It's a shame.
