Am i the only one who thought The Happening was a really good movie?

[rant]By far that is the worst movie I've seen in the theater in the last 10+ years.  I've enjoyed all of his fims up to that point, but taht was just horrible, from the acting to the ridiculousness of the entire premise.  Ooooooo the wind is blowing through the trees... SCARY![/rant]

Hi, (spoilers herein)

I wasn't surprised but certainly disappointed that "I Know Who Killed Me" made the list.  I've watched it three times in order to figure  out why the movie has been so widely derided.  It's certainly flawed and certain aspects cry for some sort of explanation such as the partially explained motivation of the antagonist.  The recurrent theme of blue roses was reminiscent of the red doorknobs of The Sixth Sense and was seemingly just as illogical.

I've come to the tentative conclusion that the movie was hyped as a vehicle featuring a sexually provocative Lindsey Lohan and when it began with a tawdry striptease in a sleazy strip club, disappointment would surely ensue if that was expected. When I think of it the first thing that comes to mind is the odor of urine, vomit and deodorizer emanating from the bathroom.  The patrons shown did nothing to add to the glamor of the setting.  Perhaps, if I had similar expectations I would think it was a poor movie.

I grew up watching "The Tales of the Unexpected" and the theme of a psychic connection between twins was a recurrent one and as such I found the Art Bell explanation unnecessary.

I read the editorial review on the Amazon site and found it hard to believe that he actually stayed awake during the movie.  He admits that he was expecting titillation. I just checked and the review is still there.  The opening sentence shows his confusion.

What's most disturbing is that with so much bad press others who would enjoy the movie just won't bother to watch it.

Even the trailer gave away how much it sucked. The opening where Mark Wahlberg starts talking bout the bees when i first seen the trailer in the cinema i was like oh this is going to suck.

Not the bees! Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!

And yes, the Happening sucked mightily. The title should have been either "What's Happening?" or "Nothing's Happening".

About The Happening: Odd that the cream of the crop critics like Richard Roeper, Manohla Dargis and Roger Ebert gave it a fresh tomato (how do you pronounce that btw?). Maybe it will become a guilty pleasure in the end just like that Dutch/Hungarian vehicle called "Showgirls".

I suppose I can cut them some slack for Avatar not being on the list, even though it's a huge massive turd, but I can see no way no how that Star Trek V is not in the running for the worst movie ever.  Truly vomitous, and I've enjoyed some terrible stuff.
"This movie has warped my fragile little mind."
