I never miss an episode. This is of course a remake series... starring Alex O'Loughlin. It is currently finishing it's second season. It is definitely different then the original version. But I like it a lot. I haven't been able to get any of the DVDs yet though.

I think that CSI: Miami declined because of the NFL.  Football overruns killed any ratings for CBS shows.  In my opinion, on Sundays where CBS had the doubleheader, 60 Minutes shouldn't be on.  That's only 8 weeks a year that it wouldn't be on, CBS!  That way, they could use the FOX model, where they just filled in the airtime until 7pm (Central time), everything would start on time, and everyone would be happy.  Because a game that starts at 3:15pm won't be over by 6pm (the scheduled start time of 60 Minutes), and CBS knows it!  So why schedule anything for the 6pm-7pm hour for those 8 Sundays a year.  Thoughts?
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

I just dont get it.. Why move such a popular tv-show as CSI Miami was, from a slot where it had great ratings and viewers.. To a slot where its almost doomed at once.. I just dont get why they did that.. So you think CSI Miami is going to compete with NFL? Nothing can compete with that. I just dont get it..

Of all the CSI brands.. CSI NY and CSI Miami was\is my two favourites.. The original CSI has lost it, in my book. To much changes etc.. And to boring these days. (sorry)

Agreed, great show that is much different than the original.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

But i guess they are running a buisness.. And i guess they will do whatever they think its the right\best thing to do, to earn the most viewers and the most money for their network.. Even though it might not popular choises they make at times..

IDK, I've kind of enjoyed it now with Danson and Shue. The couple years Fishburne was there were OK but definitely felt the loss of Petersen. It's not back to the good old days but has gotten better.

Yeah, I recommend it as well. The first season is available on Blu-ray if that's your thing.

I agree. I don't understand the slavish devotion to "60 Minutes." It's got to be the oldest-skewing prime time show on any network, yet every Sunday during football, they have to reassure all the oldsters out there that "'60 Minutes' will be seen in its entirety following the game." Other networks are canceling shows without a second thought because they attract an older audience (like NBC with "Harry's Law"). I don't get the continued support and special treatment for "60 Minutes."

The only "CSI" I ever watched with any regularity was the Miami version. But I haven't watched since it changed timeslots, so apparently it was the convenience of the timeslot rather than the show itself that kept me tuning in.

By putting Grace Park in a role of a (first-series) male cop, it gives the creators a way to have her in a bikini at least once each hour. Who cares about the wooden acting of (some of) the men when we have Boomer in a two-piece?
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

There are two reasons why every network has at least one show on every week with an elder audience: older folks have money to spend (more than 18-24 year olds), even if (unlike kids) they are fairly unswayed by advertizing... and unlike kids, they are loyal and watch every episode as it airs. Steady, dependable. 60 Minutes, Castle, Bones... like Murder She Wrote and other cop/mysteries... few ongoing extended plots, mostly resolving withing each show. There are advertisers looking for that audience. Not all advertisers are looking for a Big Bang Theory audience, or a Two and a Half Men one either... nor a Fringe one.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

CBS came out with their schedule and apparently haven't learned their lesson, moving The Mentalist from Thursdays to Sundays...
