So there would be no way to distinguish between editions if they have the same EAN. Release day shouldn't even be a consideration in qualifying as an edition. A 10th Anniversary Edition and a 25th Anniversary Edition certainly aren't going to be released on the same day, but we still consider the edition as a distinguishing factor. |

All three of these can, and on occasion do, get released on the same day. Therefore, unless we use the Edition as given on the front cover how are we to determine between the different releases in the database? To say we shouldn't include/use these simply baffles me. The people who don't want these are saying they prefer: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Instead of: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (Triple Play) Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (Double Play) Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Really? 'Cos that makes no sense whatsoever!!! (The above is a fictional example purely to demonstrate the folly that is NOT using this edition information  ) |

If you want proof, you search for the movie "Taxi 4" without knowing the actual cover.  This simply falls into the same category. On the other hand people are adding Editions like "The New Is Always Better Edition" on "How I Met Your Mother: The Complete Season 6" or "The Extra Juicy Edition" on "Desperate Housewifes: The Complete Second Season" just because it contains the word "edition" and there isn't even any other edition in any of the localities that list this particular "edition". | | | Karsten
