Question for you. You are actually very close with one small problem, and I am interested in your thoughts. You are correct basically BUT the info says that the episodes themselves have no episode title. So we are left with the data supplied by the disc menu and a user claiming an error, kind if reminds me of the typi discussions and the cast name discussions. How can thousands of users depend on the word of a single user against what the data said. No offense DJ. So what source MIGHT be available to resolve the problem caused by no on screen episode title. As I see it, we have one option that I think works with both the word and spirit ofvthe rules. That is an official website for the dhow because it has a direct tie to it and is not really third party. That I believe works.

Another source would be a different release of the show that had the episodes correctly, but yes, the official website would also be a good source.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

The difference Kathy, is that I am looking for ways to work within the rules, not try to poke holes in them to suit some personal agenda or other. I am naming no one but there are several such users. Even mire interesting is that these people who have poked enough holes to make the rules look like a wheell of jarlsberg, have little or no background or knowledge if how the rules were developed, why or anything else. They jus think they know, evenn one who likes to refer to ken could do this or that. Most of the rules are exactly as they were conceived and written years ago. Maybe that should tell something but it doesn't, those users who think they know have no idea and while I wish it were differentj, sadly many people will continue operating in a  mist if their own making, oblivious to all but their own clyelessness. Makes me very sad.

These things are irrelevant in addressing the questions people have.

What makes me sad is your refusal to make your posts legible and correct your spelling errors.

Since you don't want the community to depend on the word of a single user - exactly where do we find the "spirit ofythe rules"?

I have no agenda, contrary to your belief. My goal and purpose today is the same that it was almost ten years ago now when I realized the problems profiler was having and the cause. Simply put we needed a set of rules w set up a common platformvfor users to contribute the same data to the central database.l. from exactly the same sourced, no interpretation or prreference allowed PERIOD, those belonged to the local side of the program. That's the simple answer, there is s more involved answer as well that I will not go into here. But the simple answer covers it.

Now if that is some sort of personal agenda then I'm a monkey's uncle. I have watched people try and poke holes in the rules within hours. On day one. My position remains the same, read the rules and follow them, don't try to interpret them, I CAN help. IfKen wants to weigh in fine, I will argue the case if I feel a need but  lens word is whatever it is, whether I agree or not conceived. Today the rules remain about 95% as they were conceived and about 92% as originally written, most changes have been evolutionary but not all.. But for you or anyone else to insinuate, and you have, that you know more about the rules than I do frankly makes my blood boil and that is when you get responses you don't like, because you don't know. That simple.

Need I remind everyone that the rules do indeed spell out where we get data from. Start at page one if you font believe. If both the episode list and the disc menu are the same, so be it. You do not have the ability to decide what is or is nit correct or where the days comes from, the rules are cleat. Kathy please stop undermining them. Read them from the top and stop trying to excuse things out of context. Now if you wish to ask ken to rule on it himself  then what he chooses to do is cool, not your job.

Where did that come from?  It was rude and uncalled for, not to mention not accurate.

Your last comment has me laughiing hysterically. My answer is the same as always, you have but to ask. I have never kept it a secret, sadly some users like to attack me over it. I will only say that if the shoe was on someone's foot but mine, I would be asking that person questions to try and understand what the designer was envisioning I would not attack, nor would I make some of the other utterly specious comments which others have kade

Skip you were the first to 'attack' which was needless and unprovoked.

Agreed with most people here. If an audio track was labeled English n the metadata, but actually contained French, we would still label it French because the actual content of the DVD is more important than the labels on it. The same principle applies here. It does no one any favors to put clearly wrong data in the database.

I believe that everybody agrees with you except Skippo. As usual.

You can call it what you wish. I call it direct and to the point and  no one knows better than myself. That's ot bragging its a statement of fact. Kathy was wrong in her claim, I said so, so what, she thinks she git attacked. Should I considerder Herr or yours an attack, I just consider them misguided because youu lack the neccessary background to know, so let's all nip at the heels of the one user who does have that information and whose only desire is to help. There used to two of us, but one left because blue got fed up with this kind of stuff. Like I said double if the shoe were on your foot instead of mine, I would be trying to ask questions of the one who developed the rules, instead of constantly nipping, sometimes he just might bite back and that helps no one.

Kathy was told she was wrong and that she was trying to do something which undermined the rules. She was, no attack,, just a fact. She chose to view it as an attack, which didn't surprise me. Were I Kathy I would have started asking questions, but she chose to view it as Ann attack, I have my view of that, but I can't say it diplomatically and would be an attack, even though not intended as such.

Sorry Skip but I'm not buying it.  I don't know about your involvement in the creation of the rules and frankly I don't care.  The discussion was civil until your unprovoked attack.  if you and kathy had issues in the past then leave them there, in the past.  Going on the attack for no reason isn't helpful.

As far as the topic at hand, I agree with pretty much everyone else.  The rules say "The authoritative source for information submitted should be the DVD itself."  Not the packaging but the DVD.

NO shiitake mushroom, really. Well guess what double, the data involved in the packaging apparently mirrors the data on the disc menu, and there is no on screen episode titles beyond what is on the menu. DJ claims that is wrong, so we have a conundrum. I think I have come up with part of the answer, but not all of out.

Frankly I don't care what you buy or don't. There you nipped at my heels and you got bit, not hard but bit just the same. Now can we please try and solve the conundrum we have....how to capture both the disc menu data and the data as described by DJ, I am assuming she is correct, in a meaning ful way.

Just once Skippo answer the question and be straight.

Let's assume thet there is a disc that contains only one audio track. Metadata and disc menu tell you that it's in English but when you listen the track you note that it's actually in Spanish. What would you enter to DVDP and why?
