But it is still not coming from the place that the rules says it much... from the Credits. It is coming from internet sites.... not credits at all.

Yes... it does per the rules...

Quote:
The Original Title field serves two general purposes, but in both cases allows for the tracking of the original feature title. For profiles which have an alternate title displayed on the cover, use the title from the film's credits. For titles released outside their country of origin, use the original release title.
In cases where the title is the original title, leave the Original Title field blank.

This is not a foreign film... so the notation about foreign films do not come in play
This is not a modified title... so the modified title does not come into play.

This is an alternate title. And the rules state for alternate titles...
For profiles which have an alternate title displayed on the cover, use the title from the film's credits.

No it is not. IT is an alternate title and must follow the rules for alternate titles.

The rules shows you what an example of a modified title is. It is nothing like that. I can't possibly see how it could be looked at as a modified title (per Invelos' rules).

Which I took from the original title rules. It is still an alternate title of the title that is on the cover. So per that case it must come from the film credits per the rules... as the rules are written. It don't matter which of the alternate titles is the original title. But that the original title field is filled from the film credits per rules. I don't see how to get around that rule. That rule is there and cannot be ignored.

Correct. Film credits. The original title in the film was Killbots.

but the info is not coming from the film credits as per the rules. It is coming from sites that is claiming the info.

Like it or not the rules states where the source must be. And that source is not being used here.

There are dozens of cases in which we do not take data from the DVD credits or DVD Covers: CoO, SRP, Uncredited Cast, Roles for Cast when not listed, Audio Tracks, Running Time etc.

Per the rules, we are allowed to enter missing or correct data that might be missing or wrong from the DVD release. Original Title data is no different.

I realize this Kathy... but in the case of original titles the rules tells us exactly where to take the info from. You can't get away from it when the rules themselves tell you where the info can come from.
