It is not a box-set. It is a single blu-ray. The movie inside is Nymphomaniac, Volumes 1&2

You mean Nymph()maniac?

No, I was speaking of the movie, not the dvd "title".  This is the problem of the rules : They don't care about the movie title, which is in fact the only important thing. Another reason not to contribute to this mess.

The on-screen title in the film credits is Nymph()maniac. Why would you want to change the () to an o, when it was marketed with an () in the title, shown in the theaters with an () in the title, distributed on DVD's with an () in the title.

Because written like that is just a big spelling mistake, impossible to be pronounced correctly. All movie sites speak of Nymphomaniac. The wikipedia article precises : Nymphomaniac (stylized in advertising as NYMPH()MANIAC) is a 2013 two-part Danish drama film written and directed by Lars von Trier.

It is amazing to see that some people are unable to make the difference between a name, and a stylised representation of that name.

Wikipedia is not a reliable source - the on-screen credits are. So is the DVD cover for profiler purposes.

I know you can't stand taking the title from the DVD cover but in this case that is irrelevant since the film's credits also list the title that way.

Personally I keep my title locally as "Nymphomanic".

As it's on-screen title it's director's/producers' artistic choice, not "stylized in advertising". In your opinion if there is a B&W film released in these days is it just big post production color processing mistake?

OK. But director's/producers' artistic choice is NYMPH()MANIAC. If you enter Nymph()maniac, you do not respect director's/producers' artistic choice.

Now, type Nymph()maniac in Google search. All results are about Nymphomaniac. All critics and articles about this film use "Nymphomaniac", and when in interviews Lars Von Trier speaks of his movie, he says clearly "Nymphomaniac" not "Nymph...maniac"

I typed in Nymph()maniac and got numerous results for Nymph()maniac. Maybe it's just the French sites that don't respect the title of the film.

When I google Nymph()maniac, there are many links that list the title as Nymph()maniac.

The definitive source of data is the DVD. But, an acceptable alternative is the official site of the film.

When you enter the official site, the page opens up with (): http://www.nymphomaniacthemovie.com/

Entering the site and going to Menu, the title is listed as Nymph()maniac.

The index heading, chapter heading and character list heading all are written as Nymph()maniac.

Since the credits, front cover and official site list the title as Nymph()maniac, that is the title as far as the online database is concerned.

Surfuer does make a valid argument though.  When clicking on the press link and you select the synopsis the title is listed as NYMPHOMANIAC.  When selecting the Technical Sheet link it states "Title: NYMPHOMANIAC".  On Twitter their hash tag is #nymphomaniac and their Facebook page often refers to it as nymphomaniac.

I agree. If you read all I wrote in this thread, I said two things :

1/ The profiler dvd title for this edition is  : "()"

Reason: exactly as cover, not a logo, exactly as opening page of official movie site. That is what we have to contribute. And I find it stupid, as T4xi or Se7en or Nymph()maniac.

2/ The title of the movie itself is Nymphomaniac (for original title field purposes). This is just a readable conversion of NYMPH()MANIAC since () is a obviously a stylised O.

Last point. Many here wrote they saw in different places "Nymph()maniac". This is not true. They saw "NYMPH()MANIAC" and they apply conversion only to a part a characters.

Your point is that () is the Title. If you can just pick any text fron cover why not DVD? It's a Blu-ray with a movie title DVD, right?

Ok, lets just call it "Lars" and get on with another pointless topic.
