Laid my bike down.  Stupid Harley riders and their silly rights of passages.

Basically, bad luck in congested traffic with multiple threats to my safety and I missed one.  Was thrown from my bike after hard braking. Bike has seemingly superficial damage, luckily. Figured if I had stayed on for another second, I would have stopped safely.

Ouch! I hope you'll get better real soon. That looks pretty painful. My dad has a metal plate in his arm as well, due to a complex fracture he had as a student during gym class. Now he's using that arm without issues so I hope that at least can give you a boost of courage.

To answer your second question first, look at the part I bolded underneath. If you don't add a headshot to the designated headshot profile, it won't be included in the resulting database file and therefore won't be contributed.
EDIT: To clarify the term contribution, here it means posting the backup file in this thread and upload it to Dr. Killpatient's webspace (not profile contribution to the Invelos database, as headshots are only stored locally).


Although cvermeylen's instructions are already pretty sufficient, here's a more detailed walkthrough (all the parts I've added are in green):

Add a manual profile to your database
  Add by title - deselect "Download profile from Invelos".
  Call the profile Headshots

When you are done. Make a full custom backup of your database.
I.e., after you've collected enough headshots that you want to contribute, make a backup: first flag only the headshots profile, then from the main window menu choose "File" --> "Backup Database..." --> click "Browse..." to specify a location --> tick "Custom Backup" and keep only "Include profiles" and "Include cast/crew databases, with photos" checked --> check "Back up flagged entries only" --> finally hit "OK".

Create a new database, called HMDB.
From the main window menu choose "File" --> "Open Database..." --> click "New Database..." --> type in the name, e.g. HSDB --> if your database(s) is/are not stored in the default directory, click "Find Current" --> click "OK" --> in the pop-up hit "Yes" --> finally hit "OK".  Note: this is only a temporary database; after the whole process is finished, you should delete it.

Open the new database, and perform a restore with the following options:
  Select "Restore Specific Profiles" and select only the Headshots profile.
  Deselect "Replace Full User Database"
From the main window menu choose "File" --> "Restore Database..." --> the backup file should be specified already (if not, click "Browse..." and select the file manually) --> click "Next ->" and then "OK"

Perform a database repair with the following options:
  Select "Custom"
  Deselect "Preserve cast/crew with images"
From the main window menu choose "Tools" --> "Options..." --> choose the tab "Utilities" --> click "Repair Profile Database" --> in the pop-up hit "Yes". The "Data Directory" field in the repair tool window should contain the correct path to the HSDB database (if not, click "..." and select the correct COLLECTION.DAT file manually) --> tick "Custom" --> untick "Preserve cast/crew with images" --> finally hit "Repair".

This will remove all castmembers except those attached to the Headshots profile.

Now perform a database backup and select only "Include cast/crew databases, with photos".
From the main window menu choose "File" --> "Backup Database..." --> click "Browse..." to specify a location (as filename use something like "wewonit5times_HSDB_additions_2010-06-16.dpb") --> tick "Custom Backup" and keep only "Include cast/crew databases, with photos" checked --> finally hit "OK".

EDIT:
After every successful backup/export you need to:
- delete the headshot profile in your main database and create a new one
- delete the HSDB/HMDB/whatever its name is

BYs are needed to distinguish between different persons. Update files should only contain accepted BYs, though (i.e. BYs that are in Invelos' main online database). They are listed here: List of Accepted Birth Years with Documentation. The list may not be 100% complete, though. As you can see, there are at least two Tony Todd's, so you should check if all profiles are connected to the correct Tony Todd (by looking it up on IMDb e.g.).

And this thread should answer how to deal with incorrect and unneeded BYs.
