The problem I've had with virtual covers for TV shows is that most cast shots are done in landscape mode which doesn't fit too well in DVDP and makes it harder to create custom images.

Thanks to all for the wonderful covers.  I have no art skills at all, so I really appreciate them.

With RichieRich's problem with thumbnails and the like, I'm creating a Gallery that everyone can use to upload their own Virtual Covers.

http://strangejourney.net:8080/VirtualCovers

You must register before you can upload items.  Like here, you create a User ID that you log on with and a alias (full name) that everyone will see you as.

The only restriction is that I must create the folders for you because I can't allow you to create a folder and not have full permissions.  PM me with the name of the folder you want created and I'll create it for you.  I'm currently going through and creating folders for the ones RichieRich has gathered.

Guys who have posted images already, let me know if you want me to upload them in your name.  You'll need to create an account first though.

northbloke and richierich - I took the liberty of uploading your images to the Gallery.  If you create an account, I'll update the images to give proper credit.

Thanks!

Since I have no graphic skills whatsoever I depend on existing pictures. I used a few of these to replace the images I found with Google.

Yes, thank you!  I've already been picked up everything from the past few day, but hopefully more will be added soon.  Like Karsten, I have no graphic skills at all.

I'd love to see one for Television to match the DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray images already posted.

Set Firefox to display images inline and you should see them fine.  Then, just right click on the image and choose "save image as" and it should save it to whatever your default directory is.

His work firewall was blocking port 8080.

Setting things that way should've worked on the standard port... ?

It's not on the standard port 80.  I'm slowly working on migrating web servers from iPlanet to Apache.  iPlanet is on port 80.  Apache is on port 8080 and PHP (used by Gallery) is only on Apache.

His work firewall was blocking port 8080 so when he tried to view the images, he got a server not found error.

When I get things migrated over to Apache, it'll be listening to both port 80 and 8080 to keep links and bookmarks from breaking.

It's real easy.  After you log in, browse to a folder and click the Add Items link on the left side.  If a folder for your entry doesn't exist yet, click the link at the top of the home page to send me an email requesting it to be added.

I just created the Buffy and Farscape folders.  They're currently empty and waiting for you to upload.

I'm sorry, I'm probably being really dense but I can't see an "Add Items" option anywhere!
All I can see are:
Your Account Logout
Virtual Covers Farscape
Add Comment RSS Feed for this Album View Latest Comments

I'm using IE7 on Windows XP in case it's a browser problem.

Bah - when I removed the permission for users to upload images to the top level folder, I forgot to remove the checkbox that propagated the permissions to all sub items.  You should have an "Add Items" link now.
