Smart Money (UPC 883929-002726) has four people credited with "Screen Story and Dialogue". The current entry for them is "Writer", but there is a contribution up for voting that changes them to "Screenwriter".
What's also pertinent is that there is no other writing credit, i.e. no screenplay credit. It seems to me that screenwriter is appropriate in this case, but I'm not sure how that squares with the rules. What say you?
By the way, I found some definitions at the Writers Guild of America. They may not be relevant in this particular case, but I'm sure some of you may find them interesting. Actually, I would use OMB. That credit does not tell me that they wrote the actual screenplay. Not to sound like a broken record but "Writer" is only for credits of "Writer" or "written By". | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

According to a glossary, Screen Story: Quote: Credit given to a writer who has written a screenplay based on another writer's work but has used the other writer's work only as a springboard, a characterization, an incident, or some equally limited contribution, creating a story that is substantially new and different from the other writer's work. | | | -- Enry |

| Posted: | | | | I considered OMB, but it just seemed odd that there would be four people credited with original material and nobody wrote a screenplay... There's where the "...and dialogue" seems to come in.
I also considered the definition, but I don't think that the Writers Guild rules applied in 1931. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |
