Would be great if he does. Does he have to take part in any more relays? As I guess they'll be the hardest ones - having to rely on other swimmers to get the gold.

His final race is the 4x100 medley relay, so yes...one more.

That's the problem.  I cannot separate the two because the politics color every aspect of the sports.  How many times in years past have we had to put up with BS like corrupt judges who would lowball the scores on the US athletes?  Remember when the East German and Russian gymnasts and track stars had to be tested to see what gender they were?  There's a whole list of stuff like that over the last 40 years.  I guess now its the Chinese turn to participate in that nonsense, eh?  Anyway, I can't enjoy watching the games knowing that our people may or may not be getting a fair shake on their scores, so I just don't watch at all.

Yes he is. As are most of the swimmers. I fact my wife pointed out during one enevt the Chinese swimmers had the same suits but had covered over the Speedo logo. Guess they weren't paid for the advertisement or actually had to purchase their suits. 

It's all about the commercialism (at least the USA events I have seen). Even the Mens beach volleyball team wore their sponsors sunglasses when they played at night - they just took out the lenses and wore the frames    (I'm actually thinking of getting a pair of those... look pretty cool  )

Anybody watch the American / Chinese women (girls is more like it) doing their thing last night in gymnastics? I felt so bad for the one US girl. Spoiler:  (Select to view)

The 1st fall (of the balance beam) was crushing enough but when she did it again in the last event I felt crushed for her. All the training, all the pressure,  and to basically blow it like that. And then everywhere she turned there was a camera in her face...    I was actually glad the Chineese beat them by as much as they did. Perhaps with the loss they had she will get over it someday and not blame herself. Not she can truly say even if she didn't fall they may not have won. Just think of the torture she would have endure if they only lost by a few tenths of a point...
