Strangely enough, exactly what you did in the post above your outstanding one. |

Bram Stokers Dracula minus the slip cover, Kalifornia 027616851550 re release covers, to name a few. I have found http://www.cdcovers.cc is useful in the past. http://www.cdcovers.cc/view/63276/front/kalifornia | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

If not, buy it and make your own damn profile. I often do. What I'm saying is that even when an online profile exists, not everyone will be happy with it. Quote: I agree that this can be overridden with ease locally but let's be honest for one moment? Who the hell does not want to see additional options such as being able to select which cover art they own. After all, not only does it help SOME, but it disadvantages NONE! I think having multiple covers available for a given UPC could be a good thing. Then again, it could be a mess. Who wants 100 different cover scans to choose from for a given profile? --------------- |

--------------- I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a film that has had 100 different cover art differences off 1 UPC. I'd be surprised if there were that many that had more than five. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

If multiple covers are allowed, what's to keep several people from contributing their version of the same cover? We may have several different interpretations of the same cover in the database once we allow multiple covers per profile. --------------- |

--------------- The same thing that does so now, I would suspect. I don't think anyone is asking to have unlimited profiles of one movie submitted, but rather at least an option to download the correct cover of the particular version of the DVD they have. Aside from the obvious programming-it-in problem, I don't see a big issue of allowing one scan of each available cover (one with slip case, one without, one on re-release, etc.), and like all covers, it's voted on so there is only one of each in the system. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

How could I vote for a cover I don't have? If you and I both own the same DVD, with the same UPC, but mine came with one cover and yours came with another, how would you know if my cover contribution is accurate? Voting on such a thing would be a mess. --------------- |

I think multi scans online would be great.
I myself just cant seem to make good scans so for now Ill just do my best or use whats online. I can understand it's tough if you don't have the equipment or skill to make good scans for your version of the cover. In that case, feel free to ask on the forums here. Most users are very helpful and would probably not mind uploading their scans to a free host. If I can help, I wouldn't mind helping you out. As for all the rest of the s*it storm as you call it, just ignore. It happens from time to time on these forums I've noticed. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

--------------- Simple. You don't. You only get to vote on the one that you do have. If a 'new' cover is submitted, then it gets opened up to all that own the UPC so they can vote no if it's a duplicate, otherwise, no vote. |

--------------- Why does it have to be hard? Programming could easily do it*. Say you pick cover A as your default, and I cover B. When I sync my profile online, it will sync B. So if someone modifies "B" cover, I see it an you don't. *note I'm not saying the actual programming would be easy, but it's certainly feasible. Don't some Canadian DVDs share UPCs with US, but are seperated by locality? I suspect it would be along the same lines. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

It all sounds simple, but I've seen votes that don't make sense to me, so I think in practice this may be a mess. It wouldn't have to be, it just easily could be. --------------- |
