| Posted: | | | | Are you kidding me? How does including all subtitles and following the rules to the letter demonstrate laziness?
NOT including the subtitles is laziness. | | | Last edited: by samuelrichardscott |

| Posted: | | | | Actually the one thing that trumps the rules is a statement here in the forum from Ken or Gerri... and Ken clarified this already... Quoting Ken Cole:Quote: If the audio tracks are selectable from either the menu OR via the standard audio buttons on a standard player, they should be included as regular audio tracks. For the purposes of this, a "standard player" is one regionally coded to the profile's locality, set to the locality's default language.
If they are not selectable via either of the above options, next to determine is whether they are selectable through an alternate button press method or alternative player configuration (not via hardware changes). If so, enter them as an easter egg, with applicable instructions. If not, exclude them. So as you can see a subtitle can indeed be an Easter Egg. And going by Ken's statement above I personally would vote no to any added subtitle that should be considered an easter egg by Ken's statement. EDIT: Reading this over again... I don't know if Ken wanted it this way when he made this post... but this would also not include burnt in subtitles... as all he mentions is selectable subtitles... if not exclude them | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry, but what if I was one of the 499,850 members that don't use the forums. I'm following the rules. I don't have time to search forums on every single technicality.
I'll continue doing as I stated because I am following the contribution rules. If Ken makes a statement in the forums he should take the 30 seconds to update the rules. |

And you would get voted NO, sam. The Contribution would be declined justifiably and you would come here and ask why. and it would be explained to you. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! Skip Wrong. Not terminated. I am following the rules. Do you really expect every user to search the forums for this type of crap? If so, that's nearly as retarded as not paying your creditors on time. |

And as Skip said... it would definitely get a no vote from me... pointing to Ken's clarification on the matter. I have no control over what he puts in the rules or when... but when he gives us a clarification on a rule I will contribute and vote per that clarification. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | So say it's voted no. I am pointed to the forum. I now think to myself.
"I'm following the rules. The owner has said something but NOT updated the rules. Are the rest of the rules wrong? Should I bother contributing following the rules? Should I resubmit? Screw it, I'll not bother submitting anything" |

That is the way it is done here... if you contribute something that is against a clarification and is voted no to pointing to such clarification then you really don't have much searching to do... do you? just go to the pointed clarification. You don't have to like it... but if that is how Ken decided to do this... then that is what we have to go by. | | | Pete |

If STANDARD audio button is OK for audio tracks, why STANDARD subtitle button isn't OK for subtitles? Ken uses words either and OR (capitalized). |

"I'm following the rules. The owner has said something but NOT updated the rules. Are the rest of the rules wrong? Should I bother contributing following the rules? Should I resubmit? Screw it, I'll not bother submitting anything" Like I said... I can only follow the way it has always been done here. The only one that can change that is Ken. Would I like to see rules updated in a timely manner? Of Course! But only Ken and/or Gerri has that ability... until then we just have to follow what we are told to do when they do decide to clarify something. | | | Pete |

I personally never said it wasn't I commented on how they could be easter eggs instead of subtitles and how since he said selectable on everything that would leave out the burned in ones. | | | Pete |

What if everything I am submitting is wrong because, despite following the rules (which are set out in an OK fashion), Ken has made a post somewhere among thousands of other threads and one person may remember it. Now I must use the worst forum search engine in history to find any other possible things I'll have to look into. At the end of the day I have followed the rules. Why should I be expected to look for other possible forum posts to make sure there are not other instances like this? It's absolute BS and pure laziness by Ken. He should update the rules. Simple as that. |
