On topic: So the problem is the supposedly ill-advided filter by the databases owner? The fact that he streamlined all Jr./Sr. suffixes to look the same? It is pointed out that Kathy's change may be unintentional and the filter causes the problem. Doesn't that mean that no profile with suffixes can be contributed anymore because filters will muck it up? The one conclusion I draw from this Achim. Is that we have (1) a lot of busybodies who intrude into discussion that they are not involved only because they get the chance to feign insult on behalf of themselves or others, even when no such insult was given nor intended in any form and (2) we have a number of users whose whole existence centers around pretending or imagining insults for their own nefarious purposes. I repeat what I said earlier there was no insult of any kind that was aimed at any single users, though a number of users who have since intruded upon this discussion have certainly been insulting all on their ow and theirs ARE indeed targeted. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! a number of users who have since intruded upon this discussion In all fairness Skip, whether you like it or not, a question was posted in a PUBLIC discussion forum, and a response was posted in a PUBLIC discussion forum. Anything that's posted here, is up for grabs to be commented on by ANY user who visits these forums. If a question or a response is NOT meant to be public, it should be taken to pm. Kathy never mentioned ANY kind of specifics in her original post, she wanted clarification on an issue she thought she was having a problem with. Anyone is free to answer that question, and anyone is free to comment on anything else made public. When discussing the database, there is no "mind your own business" because the database and the system IS everyone's own business. We're all members, we all paid, we all use it, we all want the best data. In essence, no one CAN be intruding on a discussion posted in a public discussion forum based on the principle of the fact that it is indeed, in a public discussion forum. | | | The night is calling. | Posted: | | | | Merrik, that's fine shall i list the specific to which i refer none of whom ADDED anything to the discussion. I can if i have to but i figure ....you already know who they are. Then there were other users that weighed in and clearly misunderstood the whole discussion. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | It appears that the discussion has crashed through the wall.
Skip, when you don't mention names when talking about someones contribution and also about how you believe the online db is being trashed, people are going to assume that you are talking about them.
We don't have all the answers yet about the source. Arguing back-n-forth about what it could be makes no sense - and I direct that towards anyone who has gotten haughty in this thread. All the energy is going into tempers and nothing towards progress and here we are again on page 4. |

| Posted: | | | | I can only make one comment, Doc. You know what ASSUME means, so people assumptions while I might find them annoying, I find them ultimately to be the problem of the person making said assumption. We pretty clearly do have people who will jump at any opportunity to feign that they are offended and I suspect there is a motive. But to me, all the do is negate their own credibility every time. I mean we eveh had a usder who admitte it had been almost a year since he posted so he comes back and what' s his very first, a personal attack on another user. Personally, speaking, I hadn't even missed him.
It is really depressing see not only the bad data that gets approved, but to also see the sloppy notes and even the voting, it looks like they put on binders before they vote and I won't point at anyONE, but at all of us, It's actually more than depressing it is downright shocking and the screeners pay so little attention to the rules I wonder if we even have Rules because they aren't enforced. What I do know is how bad our database is getting on a daily basis, and if you read this ken, don't make me start documenting it because I can. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! | Posted: | | | | Merrick,
You posting was most helpful, thank you, and I have a better understanding of how the filters work.
Ken,
Since my original question has been answered to my satisfaction, I would like to ask you to lock this thread. Thank you. |

| Posted: | | | | Agree, Kathy, Merrick's post was excellent - I was going to post an explanation of the filter but no need now. Locking per request. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |
