Well it crushed the box office with 200.3 opening weekend in north American and a total box of 614 plus million globally. It has gotten a CinemaScore of A+. So it looks very promising. One of the things that I liked the most was simply put if Jack Kirby were still alive and had written this story, this is very much what it would have looked like in his hands.

Roll on the Oscars.

Yikes. I doubt that. There wasn't any performance strong enough. Musically forgettable. Visual and special effects nominations...yeah..by there will be competition
I guess maybe joss. Might get a director mod but unlikely I think.

I was being sarcastic

Just so many people proclaiming it as a near masterpiece for what it is.

My son an I saw it at the IMAX in 3D and we both were quite happy with the end result. I busted out laughing many, many times at the humor and the only time I thought Tony's humor was bland & stretched out was because it was intended to be - it was setting up for the punch line at the scene change (hint: Arcade).

Hulk was well done here and I really really loved the joke with him and Thor at the end of the movie.

I don't blame Mr Fury for drawing a pistol on a fighter jet - you have to realize he would have done anything and everything he could to stop it and was working on instinct.

Though I haven't seen it yet, every one of our comic book customers is raving about it.

(might go Sunday, though I really want to see Pirates more)

I hope you are joking. Old b/w movies are awesome on Blu-ray. Sure, usually because a fresh restauration job goes with the release, but they are still improved a lot over DVD. But beside that I also prefer 2D over 3D.

The General in Blu-ray looks better than the pristine 16mm print I saw in film school. Only a recently pulled 35mm print looked any better. Blu-ray looks beautiful in B&W. Make sure your TV is calibrated to not have color hot spots.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Finally got a chance to see this film and I loved it.  The Hulk has always been my favorite Marvel Super Hero, and he didn't dissapoint...I was a little worried about the pants being the right color, but they seem to have gotten it right.

^ I took my son to see it last night.  He thought it was fantastic.  I found it satisfying, but wouldn't go quite that far.  It is good to see the multi-film set up play out well where it could have become a mess.  The conflict and repartee amongst the (many) principals, whom by now we know very well, was very entertaining.

Phil Coulson!  (need I say more)

I had a hard time with the giant alien ships swimming through the air--it was cool to watch and menacing as anything, but difficult to swallow.

Stark's "heroic deed" at the end played out as very reminiscent of a certain summer blockbuster with aliens, but it was the right thing to do.  (Knowing he couldn't die took away from it, too.)

(Fury drew his sidearm because that's what he had left.    It didn't bother me.)

Well, I don't believe those were 'ships'.  I believe those were giant, armored, alien creatures.

You may be right.  Must ponder.
