Like others, at present I don't have the time to wade through an entire new version. That will have to wait until a more quiet time of the year. Nevertheless: many thanks for all the hard labour that went into the creation of a complete new version and the quick integration of fixes!!

As others have mentioned, volunteer work like this is always a thankless job. But look at it this way: It can be assumed that every person who downloaded and installed the files found them useful. That means automatically they appreciate the work that you've saved them from doing. True, it would be nice if they actually showed their appreciation, but well, what can you do? Anyway, thanks for me, too.

Have you considered using a file sharing network to distribute the files? I don't know how well that would work, but I can see how some people might have problems with those hosting websites. They're not very... user friendly.

And while I'm making suggestions: Your picture for Bob Ivy shows him in his Bubba Ho-Tep makeup (i.e. not really him). This appears to be him.
...and Earendil cast him from the sky.

Yes, I thank you for your work - I didn't do, because I haven't put it into my database yet. And I'm not sure I will.

Here's why:
I have my collection on the net using phpMyProfiler. That's why I'd like to have my headshots in jpg-files. It's easy to use those files on the net and inside DVD Profiler. This project on the other hand is easily used in DVD Profiler, but hard to use on the net.

So what I'd like to see, is a restarted HSDB in form of packed jpg-files.

I totally agree with you that a JPEG database would be very handy.
In the meantime you can try exporting the embedded Headshots by using the Cinematic Collection Viewer Plugin.
I've tried it and it works.
I've successfully uploaded the exported Headshots to my PHP DVD Profiler
But please be warned that the CCV plugin exports DUMMY (zero byte) JPEGs for all crew in your database that do not have an embedded Headshot, which of course you will have to delete before uploading that junk to your site.

I think, that just many users of the dvd profiler dont know the forum and dont know the feature of headshots.

By the way, how many users of the dvd-profiler are there?

You have to pay nothing to download those files and why are you bothered about the filenames ?

Just entered this thread for the first time, find this an interesting concept.  Couple of questions though:  What do you do with these files once they're downloaded, do they automatically insert themselves where they need to be in DVD Profiler?  Is there an installer that inserts the pics where they need to be?  Or do you have to go through each cast/crew member of each movie in your db and physically drag & drop the photos there?  Where do the photos show up in DVD Profiler?  What kind of additional hard drive space would these consume on, say a 500 movie db / 1000 movie db (mine's in-between).  How much additional time will something like this add to DVD Profiler's startup time?  These are issues I'm interested in finding out before I try the Headshot db.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Hello,

it is very easy to add those files.
Especially if you haven't installed any headshots so far.

You click on FILE --> Restore Database
Then you choose the file you want to restore (for example crew.dpd)
A window will open, only RESTORE CAST AND CREW DATABASES (including photos) will be marked.
Then just click next and all headshots of the file you chosed before will be added.

Repeat this procedure for every other file, after that you will be set and done
