It just gets worse with you doesn't it? You are actually asking me to be "open-minded" to this sort of brutality rather than you accepting what you condone by circulating these videos.

what do you think of people that have 'A Clockwork Orange' as one of the films they own? Do you think that this condones brutality and rape when they own these films?

ps - I own Clockwork Orange and I don't.

I'm bumping this since I never got a response.

Naturally, I belive that owning Clockwork Orange in no way suggests that they are condoning rape & brutality towards women since it's just a film, but since you are the one who says posting a video which includes this does condone violence. I wondered how you reconciled the two opinions?

Dan - seems like your confused again:

You still vehemently defend your position that it was "humorous".

Wrong! I have  defended that I said, "It's a smidgen funny & attempted to explain the humor"

I can't help but notice you did not express the same concerns for others who liked the vid's more than myself. Hmmm Perhaps you had long festering grudge, against the other person & mistakenly aimed your hurtful comments at me, because of your confusion.

Rick

You do happen to realize that the words "humorous" and "funny" mean the same thing don't you?

A word of advice, now is not the time to concern yourself about it. Martin got blasted by me for his OP because I interpreted his post as attempting to inject himself into our process, something I take a very dim view of, and I am NOT alone. I would strongly recommend that until November 5 you simply observe.

Like it or not, Snark. that is my view, we have enough problems with our current system which desperately needs a thourough overhaul. 60% of the American people think it is highly likely there will be massive vote fraud this cycle. We don't need outside help to further muddy the waters.

As I said earlier I have never nor would I ever give voice to my opions on any other political system anywhere, especially as they approach an election, it is NOT my place, my business and I absolutely do not wish to be seen as attempting to interfere in the sovereign actions of another country, no matter how large or small and i do not appreciate such attempts on the parts of others, whether they be Americans interfering in others or  others attempting to interfere here.

I'm not going to get into anything political here, just gonna chime in and say it's great to new Terry Tate videos. He was the highlight a few super-bowls ago, and the gag never gets old for me and my juvenile sense of humor. Thanks for posting these!

BTW, I don't hit women, only have once in junior high and she begged for it and was warned repeatedly to stop hitting me. Finally she got me good on the back of the head with a thick history book and I snapped, stood up, she stood up, and she got knocked out. I still kinda feel bad I ended up doing that, but a man (or boy in that case) can only take so much. The teacher wouldn't stop her, so I did.
I have been known to fight someone who has beat women, and am proud of that and will continue.

Now I'm way off topic, although I'm not sure how this topic came up from the videos. One man's comedy is another man's offence I guess. Of course if these were real TT would be locked up without a key.

I am not sure what "massive vote fraud" you're talking about, but it's relevence to this conversation is zero.  Red herring.

No one here is "trying to interfere in the soveriegn actions of another country".  This is a community with an international user base and they're free to comment in any thread they want.  They're simply stating their views.  How can this in any way be be construed as "interefering"?

If Ken wants to put up a "no foriegnes" flag on some threads that's his call.  His house, his rules.  But until then it's open season.  Ignore their posts if their views disturb you, but IMO it's the height of rudeness to tell anyone that they are not welcome in any thread on the forums that they want to post in.

'Conservative commentators already speak of McCain’s campaign in the past tense, listing all its tactical and strategic errors. Worst among them, by almost all accounts, was McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as VP candidate. Though she electrified the flagging McCain brand for a week or two, she’s now become a major drag on the ticket.

Every day, it seems, Palin adds to her bad report card. On Monday, it was reported that she had used Alaskan government money to pay for her children’s travel. On Tuesday, following a barrage of criticism, she had to apologize for referring to some parts of the US as “anti-American.” On Wednesday we learned that the Republican Party has spent $150,000 on clothes and cosmetics for Palin and her family since she joined the campaign. What next?'

you are free to criticize our Prime Minister any time you want. We all do.

One difference bewteen the UK and the USA that comes over is with interviews by the press of your President. In the UK, the press pushes and interrogates the prime minister, questioning his policies etc. (AKA giving him a hard time) Wheras in the 'admittedly limited' view we get of interviews of the US president in America it seems that there is far more gentle questioning and it's more of a talk by the President to which the Press are invited to just listen.

Its the same to some extent here. We have a prime minister and president. When someone is talking to the president, its similar to someone talking to the Queen.

Our prime minister is the head of the cabinet. Our president is the head of Finland. Theres a huge diffrence. UK prime minister doesnt have the same status as a president, because the queen is above him.

Maybe I do not understand your monarchy all that well, but I always understood that the reigning monarch was little more than a figurehead with very little actual power.

In our democracy, the president shares power equally with the congress and the judicial branch.  Not quite the same, I don't think.

Presidents power here is way more limited then in the US. She is still the head of Finland. Highest person in the military (the army in war time would be under her control). And desides on our foreign policy with the cabinet.

But i am not talking about actual power the position gives, i'm talking about the status it gives.

The role of the monarchy in the UK is very complicated. Basically the monarch has the power to disband government and rule the country; after every general election the prime minister has to ask permission to govern the country and every year the government can't introduce any new law without the monarch's permission.

However, all of this power is only there on the understanding that it is never used...
