| Posted: | | | | Quoting Romzarah: Quote: One should add the new case type for TV sets like Buffy and Angel. The old ones were slip covers. The new ones I have called THINpack, as they are keep case size and hold as many as 6 DVDs. I will try to find time to photo them and add to this post. This sounds like what a lot of companies are now calling a LiteBox now and not THINpack. Litebox = 14mm case that can hold up to 6 discs Basically it's a new name for an existing type of keep case. They have been around for a while but I think the name LiteBox is just starting to stick with multiple vendors. Previously I think most just called them 6 way Keep cases. A lot of the R1 Anime I collect is coming in these now. A google search for "DVD LiteBox case" shows up a lot of the new releases flagged like this. Same with search for LiteBox on RightStuf.com. http://www.pcx.com.au/products/detail.asp?&item=1189 |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the reply tkinnen. I just wish they would use a new UPC code for the new sets when they were released. The old ones being in a fat slip cover. For 1 thing the new release of Buffy is titled The Complete first through seventh seasons. The old was only that way with the first season. So if you get this new LiteBox/Keep Case sets, you are stuck with the titles out of order. You can change the case type and the titles on the profiles, but the order in the list remains as if you didn't change them. You also need to lock the changes you made to keep the info from update changing them back. |

| Posted: | | | | To expand on what Pete said.. Sort Title is in YOUR hands and you can do anything you want. You cannot control the way the Online is sorted, that is in Ken Cole's hands and should be. Users should never beable to determine Sort Title for the Online...it's a long story and ugly.
The power of Profiler lies in it's two-tier system. We have an Online which has Contribution Rules to follow, and there is the local (your database) which you have complete and total control of, and you set the Rules for it. Further when you upload YOUR collection to Invelos, the servers create a clone of YOUR data, therefore people seeing your collection will see the data sorted and presented as you wish it to be presented. This two-pronged approach makes Profiler one of the most powerful databases of its kind.

Ya tried that, they remain in the order they were in. So at the top I have the fifth season and the last is the first season. First should go after Fifth. Fifth Forth Second Seventh Sixth Third First |

Ya did that too. Did all that right after I renamed them, but thanks for trying to help. If you like you can add the seven seasons to your profile if you don't have them, rename them all with "The Complete First through Seventh Season" and see if you have the same problem after you do all the things we have in this topic. |

The Complete Fifth Season The Complete First Season The Complete Forth Season The Complete Second Season The Complete Seventh Season The Complete Sixth Season The Complete Third Season Hmm... I'm wondering if perhaps you're misunderstanding what "Sort Title" means. You can keep the title anything you'd like and still change the sort title in order to get them to appear the right way in your collection. To modify the sort title, do this: 1. Edit the profile (by double-clicking on it in the collection listing) 2. The default tab should be the "General Information" tab, but if it isn't, select it in the list on the left. 3. Towards the top of the window you should see this: You can keep the "DVD Title" as whatever you want, but in order to get them to appear the way you want them in the listing you're going to need to modify the "Sort Title" -- this title doesn't appear anywhere but in this field, it is just used for DVD profiler when it sorts the titles in your collection listing. So for example, you could create the following sort titles: Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1 Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2 Buffy the Vampire Slayer 3 Buffy the Vampire Slayer 4 Buffy the Vampire Slayer 5 Buffy the Vampire Slayer 6 Buffy the Vampire Slayer 7 As you can see, that doesn't look anything like the proper title, since all we care about is getting it to appear in the right order. You need "The Complete" the in order for it to appear at that point in the listing. Note: If you absolutely want the Sort Title to have a similar title to the DVD title I'd suggest doing something like this: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete 1st Season Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete 2nd Season Etc. Since the title is identical all the way to the numbers, it will still sort it properly. KM | | | Tags, tags, bo bags, banana fana fo fags, mi my mo mags, TAGS! Dolly's not alone. Yeah... I have the original releases in the digipaks... and the sort title (in personalize menu or General edit menu) works as expected for me. When I change my sort title the way you want it (basically just copying title to sort title) I get... The Complete Fifth Season The Complete First Season The Complete Fourth Season The Complete Second Season The Complete Seventh Season The Complete Sixth Season The Complete Third Season | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

| Posted: | | | | Ya did that both the title and sort title are the same. I made screen shots so you can see from the main list the order they are in and the edit window you can see the sort title info. Can't find a way to post them though. |

I uploaded my profiles so you can see the order is the same as the digipaks were. Anyways, this topic is on covers, and should be continued as such. My thought is that it is to bad the DVDs were released with the same UPC codes and there is no way to add the new type to the data base for users who buy just the new case type to download the correct info. They can only get the old titles and case type on download. |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Romzarah: Quote: As I stated before, I would like to keep the titles that are on the covers. Why? We all have our idiosyncracies and OCD-like behaviour, I don't think we'd be here if we didn't, but this is one I don't understand. The Sort Title isn't visible anywhere, other than in the data field where you enter it. What is seen in the profile view, collection listing, reports, etc. is the DVD Title. So why is it so important to have the Sort Title field and the DVD Title field be identical? I'm not criticizing, it's just such a foreign concept to me that I find myself still wondering if you're not confusing the Sort Title and DVD Title fields. | Posted: | | | | Agree with Astrakan (nice explaination BTW ). The sort title field was created to solve your issue. There is no reason for the sort title to match the DVD title. If you truly want it that way then you will have to change the DVD title OR live with the incorrectly sorted DVDs |
