Not really relevant, unless you want to argue over which position the single name should occupy. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Not really relevant, unless you want to argue over which position the single name should occupy. What I mean is that the stage name detection problem is only for 10% of stage names (and even less if we consider group names (Johnny Traber's Troupe...) and names like Queen Latifah, who has never had "Queen" as title). So before asking Ken to change things, we must be careful... | | | Images from movies |

I would say that you estimate is dead wrong, the large majority of Actors use some form of "stage name", unless you are saying that 10% involve single names or Group names. But I agree with you in pprincipal, we must always be Careful. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

There you go again citing a statistic without backing it up. Wrong . As I wrote, those statistics are taken in my collection and are exact for it. I have only 1100 movies, so those statistics may be not exactly the same than for bigger collections, but I doubt they would be in a totally different ratio. | | | Images from movies |

How did you determine which names were stage names? Did you research every actor in your 1100 movies? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

How did you determine which names were stage names? The ratio I gave is between stage names that seem a stage name (Bourvil, Cedric The Entertainer, Johnny Traber's Troupe...) and known stage names that seem a "real name" (John Wayne, Tom Cruise...). I have not checked all the "John Smith" to be sure this is their real name or not, since I do not care for unknown actors (in their case, just correct linking is important for me). Note that when trying to find headshots for unknown actors, I sometimes discovered a name is a stage name, but in fact it is very rare. | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

| Posted: | | | | So when you say "stage name detection problem is only for 10% of stage names", what you really mean is "for actors that I am interested in, I only have a problem with 10% of the stage names"? Not quite the same thing... | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | In fact I was answering to the affirmation that "this applies to every stage name." Every seemed exagerated as many stage names are evident. I meant nothing less, nothing more. | | | Images from movies |
