| Posted: | | | | Quoting DJ Doena: Quote: I'd suggest a re-design of the "Audio & Subtitles" section that it looks more like the "Discs" section with a grid and an "add line" button.
Then I'd suggest 3 columns for audio tracks: language, audio format and type
Type would be a choice of: original audio track, dubbed audio track, commentary, descriptive
Then I'd suggest 2 columns for the subtitles: language and type
Type would be a choice of: normal subtitle, subtitle for the hearing impaired, commentary.
I don't think the database schema has to be changed for the above, it's just a redesign of the UI. Missing choices for audio types: music only, other. Missing choices for subtitle types: partial, trivia, other. For the language column there should also be an option "mixed languages" in addition to "other". I think a system like this has been proposed before. In the short term I would be happy already if the proposed languages would be added to the list. The list of missing languages includes: Basque Galician Catalonian Valencian Flemish Estonian Latvian Lithuanian Serbian Thai Swiss German Rumantsch Slovak Pashtu Bambara Tibetan Mongolian Bahasa (Indonesia) Slovenian Vietnamese Croatian Latin Have I missed a language? | | | Last edited: by RHo |

| Posted: | | | | Addition to subtitle type: forced, closed caption Otherwise agreed with DJ Doena Subtitle section should be the same drop-down list type as Audio section
Here should be the complete list of languages & subtitles now in the program and the requested ones: Language Audio Subtitle Afrikaans missing OK Arabic OK OK Bahasa (Indonesia) missing missing Bambara missing missing Basque missing missing Bulgarian OK OK Cantonese OK - Catalonian missing missing Chinese - OK Croatian missing OK Czech OK OK Danish OK OK Dutch OK OK English OK OK Estonian missing missing Finnish OK OK Flemish missing missing French OK OK Galician missing missing German OK OK Greek OK OK Hebrew OK OK Hindi OK OK Hungarian OK OK Icelandic OK OK Italian OK OK Japanese OK OK Kazakh missing missing Korean OK OK Latin missing missing Latvian missing missing Lithuanian missing missing Mandarin OK - Mongolian missing missing Norwegian OK OK Pashtu missing missing Persian (Farsi) OK OK Polish OK OK Portugese OK OK Romanian OK OK Rumantsch missing missing Russian OK OK Serbian missing missing Slovak(ian) missing OK Slovenian missing OK Spanish OK OK Swedish OK OK Swiss German missing missing Zulu missing OK Tagalog OK OK Thai missing OK Tibetan missing missing Turkish OK OK Ukrainian missing missing Valencian missing missing Vietnamese missing missing Xhosa missing OK *other OK OK *mixed languges missing missing | | | Last edited: by jaanus |

Subtitles can be mixed language as well. I own at least one DVD where this is the case. In this case for simplicity use the main language, even if it's dual language pick one. | | | Last edited: by bradavon |

... I have eight that are in Thai and three more that have a Thai dub, all R1 disks. Thai audio needs to be added! pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

I've just added around 40 discs to my local collection for full cataloguing with Afrikaans as the main soundtrack, so I'd be glad if that could be included sooner than later. What is so weird is that I don't think I have a single disc with Afrikaans subtitles! | | | --- ¡Hola! | | | Last edited: by Johan1FS |

| Posted: | | | | I have at least 100 titles with Thai language (with about a dozen others on the way for Christmas). Just adding this option alone would knock out a huge percentage of my Other selections. |

| Posted: | | | | Out of a collection of 526 titles (a combination of R1 and R2), I have 31 that have audio or subtitles in "other". Plus, I was thinking about The Red Violin, which is listed as having an "English" audio channel, but which features as much Chinese, French, Italian and German as English. How should that work? | | | Last edited: by wintermute115 |

| Posted: | | | | I think tha we are talking about tracks and subtitles like features of the DVD, the languages in wich i can hear or read the entire film offers in the DVD. Maybe the film includes many languages but i can't selec it to hear or read the film. We can't forget that DVDProfiler is a database program for DVDs, not for movies. |

The other language to add to this list (at least for me) : French (Canada/Quebec) : This is not the same that french (France) many expression are different and many French Canadian don't buy title if the dubbing is not done in the Province of Quebec |
