| Posted: | | | | A surprise result today, the Swiss beat Spain, and i think they deserved it as well. They played very well, defend as a team, go forward when possible and Spain just couldn't find an answer. Although they hit the bar once with a fantastic shot.
I have to say Chile played well too, they could and perhaps should have scored more against a mediocre Honduras side.

The ball didn't even exist a year ago. It was only introduced in December of 09 and the man who developed it is an Englishman. |

Remember they got into the World Cup because they cheated with the two handballs against Ireland. That is correct yes, they shouldn't have been in South Africa to begin with. But what amazes me the most is the complete lack of commitment, of pace. They have a lot of good players but you didn't see them! The Mexicans were playing with pressure, good passing and the willingness to go forward Ribery, poor. Anelka, was he even on the pitch, oh yeah he was! Didin't see him! Malouda, poor. Gouvou, poor. and did you see the defending by Gallas when Salcido came in, he just stood there. Fortunately for the French after next match Domenech is gone and Blanc will have a chance to get them back up. His first job should be the team spirit and the willing ness of these players to work for, and with each other. Paul |

| Posted: | | | | Horrendous ref in the first half. As much as I want Germany to lose that was in no way two yellows for Klose and a free kick on the overhead kick? P-lease... So far, the WC has been a bit lacklustre so I hope it gets better starting with a good old Slovenia win followed by a drubbing of Algeria |

I have to disagree, while they in no way were hard or horrendous tackles they were fouls that could be punished by a yellow card. I agree though that he could also let him get of with a warning as a lot of referees would with players already on a yellow card. Solvenia-USA was a fantastic match, i agree with Zwollenaar there didn't seem to be anything wrong with the goal the US scored but in the end i think a draw is a fair result in this surprisingly good match.
