Well, this nonsense has to end some time soon. Now at over 38,000 discs and over 20,000 movies! Storage room is about to burst at the seams. Expect to slow this down now .... this has been a crazy expensive habit. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'll probably just continue with mostly new releases, and some older good quality titles.

Check out the collection below! ... not on Profiler listing

Impressive collection. I'm glad you found an alternative to DVD Profiler that suited you. It would be nice to hear what you think are the pros and cons for Collectorz.

Collectorz is different from DVD Profiler in many aspects. How useful one finds it I guess depends on what features one depends on. I only tested it briefly, and the thing that bothered me the most was that it didn't seem to handle boxsets in any good way.

I also found it disappointing that they no longer have a forum. Thay say that there was too much misinformation posted, so they decided to shut it down and would rely on their customer support. But a forum is so much more that just support. It's a way for users to interchange experiences and ideas. And of course, building tools for Collectorz would be meaningless if you couldn't tell anybody about it.

Also ... Why was there so much misinformation in their forum. In comparison, there is really very little misinformation found in these forums. So is there something with Collectorz that causes more misundertsanding? Or did they have users that would deliberately spread incorrect information? Just wondering.

Just checking in .... slowed down, but the numbers are still going. Now at over 40,000 total discs and over 21,000 movies. Still spend too much time on Ebay. If interested, you can see what's being recently added by selecting the index tab, by format, for the highest numbers, and of course, you can see recent releases with the "release date" tab.

As far as the questions on Collectorz, if you want to work on different ways to manipulate your data, it may not be the solution. If, however, you're looking to just maintain your database, it IS, (my opinion) the way to go. Aside from the fact that Profiler won't function for large collections, it was much more difficult to use, compared to Collectorz. Collectorz's 'Core' of data is very complete and I don't need to spend my time creating so much data, as in Profiler. Also has options besides movies, as you can maintain databases for your collections of music, books, comics, and games.
