| Posted: | | | | As I said in another thread, I will soon have to stay in New York for 3 weeks and I plan on bringing a full luggage of DVD's back to Montreal.
I'm looking for the best deals in or around Manhattan, if you know good places please tell me. | | | My 4x4 Club: Club FJ Cruiser Quebec DVDP Français: Forum DVD Profiler Français DVDCOL:DVD Collectors Online Video: LG RU-42PX10 Audio: Sony DreamSystem DAVFX100W |

Close to Madison Square Garden, if I remember it's on 7th Avenue, between 35th and 36th streets. | | | My 4x4 Club: Club FJ Cruiser Quebec DVDP Français: Forum DVD Profiler Français DVDCOL:DVD Collectors Online Video: LG RU-42PX10 Audio: Sony DreamSystem DAVFX100W |

Taxes are quite high in Manhattan though - and DO watch out for all the street side vendors selling cheap DVDs. These are mainly counterfeit and often of dubious quality.
As someone else said, there are several Best buys - I think there's one on 5th Ave in midtown. NY isn't the cheapest place in the workd though - if you are buying suitcaeses full, stop off in NH and avoid the Sales Taxes!!!!! |

| Posted: | | | | You know Eric, as one Canadian to another, in most instances you'll find the prices are better here at home.. what with the exchange rate and possible duties you'll come ahead if bought on this side of the line. In 1998 I was staying in Montreal /Sherbrooke and went to Boston for a few days with the idea of also bringing home maybe not a suitcase full of DVD's but a nice bag full., and after cruising the main shops in Boston ( But not Costco unfortunately), I decided on buying only five DVD's, and their prices were in the $18.99 to $31.99 area., the same price in Canada but not 20 to 40 % on the $ .. Let us know what you foundf and what you bought. have a safe trip Terry | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
