| Posted: | | | | I watched the Region 2 release of Clerks II last night. Though I did enjoy it, I had a nagging feeling something felt wrong. I think it was the soundtrack and want other opinions and comparisions, if you don't very much mind in the slightest ta very muchly. It was definitely 5.1 and all channels were working properly, but it was like there were random bits missing. The same sort of feeling you get when the audio and video are out of sync (though they were ok in this case). Take the scene where Dante goes up on the roof for a dance lesson. There's some dialogue then Silent Bob holds up the tape player and Jay opens the door, pops in a tape and shuts it. That segment with the tape was completely silent, even for Bob! You may not think it a big deal, but I found it jarring. There were many others too, but harder to pinpoint. The one above is all the more obvious because it's followed by a big song and dance number that sounds spot on. Otherwise, it's tiny things like items falling or being bumped into. But there's no noise! I think the foley artist fell asleep. Anyone else notice this? I'd especially like confirmation on the tape bit, preferably from more than one region. Also provide witness statements. Cheers! | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | I just ordered the UK 2-disc special edition and it got shipped today. I should have it no later than next week. I might not have the time to watch the whole movie immediately, but if you post the time frame for the segment, I'll gladly check it out for you.

Chris I appreciate the offer, Chris, but I can wait. It's a good scene and it would be a shame to watch it out of context. If you spot anything when you do eventually watch it properly, send me a note then. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | Just looked and the cassette sounds are there all 4 of them. Not sure about the bumping into things tho as would have to watch the whole movie again. Not that it would be terrible because Clerks II was funny. But I am watching The Honeymooners 39 episodes right now. | | | Sometimes you are the bowling ball, sometimes you are the pins. |

Looking at your flag, is that a region 1? | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | Hello Jon,
Watched Clerks II today. You are absolutely correct. There are some background sounds missing. I turned up the volume during the tape scene you mentioned. I think I heard something, but very faint. I have the same release you have, so it must be an error in the soundtrack, since the R1 doesn't appear to have this issue.

| Posted: | | | | Thanks, Chris. Good to know I wasn't going mad. I'll try and find a contact for Paramount. See if they can't get it repaired. Maybe they can send a CD of the missing noises that we can play alongside the movie. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

I contacted them over a week ago and was promised someone would check it out and call me back. But nothing! I'll try them again soon. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | I'll contact Paramount Germany. I doubt that they can help me (because of the DVD being from UK), but maybe they can forward the problem to someone responsible |
