I haven't watched television, except for sports, PBS, and the local news, for many years. I do like to watch TV Series on DVDs though so I'm curious as to what shows are your favorites.

How could I forget Firefly!?!? I even wrote a nasty letter to Fox when they pulled the plug on it.

I like several television shows but I will stick with the most recent and not go back to far on the series I love.  I tend to focus on only a couple shows per season so I can keep up(listed in order)...

LOST
Heroes
CSI
House
Jericho
Veronic Mars
Firefly
Battlestar Galactica

I just bought a friends collection of 500+ DVDs - mostly box sets and TV series. I'm not quite sure where I want to start. I'm off from work for a few months so I have a lot of time for movies!

Question No. 1 Can I bring the popcorn...?

Near the top for me, too. Together with Carnivale and Deadwood. That were truly a few great years for HBO.

My personal all time favorites:

Die Zweite Heimat (The Second Home, DE 1992, Edgar Reitz)
The Singing Detective (UK 1986, Dennis Potter)
