“Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett remained paralyzed from the neck down Monday and still risks death unless his status improves over the next several days. He was in a heavily sedated state after four hours of emergency surgery to stabilize fractured bones in his spine and damage to his spinal chord.
Doctors outlined a bleak future for Everett, but his prognosis wasn't exactly clear and will largely depend on how well he recovers. Doctors said chances are slim that Everett, who was injured in the Bills' season-opening loss Sunday to the Denver Broncos, will ever walk again.”
He is on a ventilator and remains in critical condition. "This young man suffered a potentially lethal and grave injury," said Dr. Andrew Cappucino, a spinal specialist who helped perform the surgery. "We are still greatly concerned."

So young...it's a shame. It was a good tackle too...just unlucky. His doctor says the chances of a full recovery are dismal...probably never walk again if he survives the next week. My prayers go with him and his family.
