| | Posted: | | | | Ok, I'm at work right now and didn't get time to update the bracket's last night due to watching hockey for close to 6 hours ( Hey, what do you want from me ?? I'm Canadian ! ) so THE DECENT moves on, and I will update the brackets when I get back from the cottage this weekend as I won't be going home until late Saturday night. Anyhoo so here is the 2nd round...should be a good one....so without further ado....Stephen King put on the gloves and get a mirror, because one of you is going down  - Rimmer | | | Look, I'm not much good at big speeches, and I know I haven't always been an easy guy to get on with, and I know, that given the choice, I wouldn't have chosen you as friends, but I just want to say, that over the years, I have come to regard you as people I met.

The guy who keeps showing up with half his head missing ??? Seriously, what the HELL was that all about. Did Stephen King hate me that much ? I remember not being able to get up in the night to pee for close to a year because I thought that half headed freak would be behind the washroom door waiting for me.  Yeah, you know the one.....^^^. Don't lie, you all wanted to pee your pants too  ... ok, so maybe I just had a bladder infection, but that movie sure as hell didn't help. - Rimmer (* On a side note, I know I spelled Pet Semetary wrong in the brackets, I will change it this weekend when I am home from the cottage. | | Posted: | | | | I voted for Pet Semetary too. Creeped me well out when I first saw it. And here was me thinking I was going to see a nice jolly movie with Herman Munster in it!
That, plus the fact that The Shining bores the hell out of me. It's like Kubrick knew what you were supposed to have to make a horror film, but just didn't quite know how to put them together. |

| | Posted: | | | | Definitely The Shining. I re-watched Pet Sematary recently, and was very disappointed. IMO, most of the acting is borderline terrible (especially the daughter), except for the oldest and youngest cast members, Fred Gwynne and Miko Hughes, respectively. Also, the parts with "the guy who keeps showing up with half his head missing" worked ok when I was younger, but now it just comes across as unintentionally funny. |

Although having read both novels, I have to admit that Pet Semitary was a more enjoyable read. |

| | Posted: | | | | I don't recall seeing Pet Semitary but I'm reading Book Five of the Dark Tower Series and the Priest that lost his faith confronting the vampire and was forced to drink his blood is currently telling his story and damn, it makes me want to go out and read the book.
Besides that, the only part of The Shining that scared me even as a kid was when the guy came around the corner with an axe and got some poor sap in the gut. |
