| | Posted: | | | | Now that I'm using a laptop to update missing data from profiles while in work I need a way to synchronise the 2 versions of my database but without wiping off profiles that have been added to the 'home' db. Is there any way to do this? |

| | Posted: | | | | If you don't use your own cover scans or update actor headshots you can use the upload/download to Invelos to keep them synced together.
I've read in the Profiler Online forum that as of version 3.x it will keep your customized data in the profiles, but I haven't tested it to see if it works or not.

Say if I wanted to add some dvds at home I would have to make a backup from the laptop, restore it on the pc add the dvds, make a backup and then restore it on the laptop before doing any more updating at work lol. A fair bit of messing about to be doing regular, especially on an older laptop. |

Works great.
Don't know if you started using it because of my recommendation, but I do use it. But it won't help MarEll, because it won't sync the two database, at least not in the way MarEll wants to do it, as I understand it. The only way to do it without overwriting the whole DB, as far as I know, would be to backup only the changed and/or added profiles, and then restore those in the other database. You'd still have to delete obsolete profiles manually. As long as you make sure to select "Restore Specific Profile", you will be able to add/modify only specific profiles and not the whole db. |

I misundertood his intentions. Sorry about that. Setting up SyncBack for that is very straightforward and it just works  Easiest way to do it is to have a USB key to do the sync. ALways have the most up to date db on the USB key, and you can then sync that to any PC. |
