Bought the Special Limited Ed of All this World II

and when disc ONE is inserted into CDRom

my windows media player 11 comes up and all the tracks are on Disc One say 'Unknown Track 'Unknown Artist' ., But Disc TWO when inserted does display artist and track title..,

Now when I insert the same disc one and use Apple I tunes software for the playback program ( same as windows media player 11 ) the track titles do come up for Disc one (as well as disc two..,).,

So my concern or question is., Where is this info stored? I was under the impression that the disc info was embedded in the CD (above track one) .., but then I was informed that you have to be on the Net for the info to be beamed back to you, and if so,, why would Apple Tunes have this info and WMP  doesn't ????
I don't know enough about this information  I was looking for to find it readily on the Internet and lately I've seen postings here looking for Server information etc..,

Sooooo...  does anyone know why this is ????

Different people have entered the CDs onto whatever database they draw from. Its kinda like profiler in that a lot of of it is user built (at least as far as the media player goes...not sure about itunes). I find them both to be generally pretty reliable as far as popular music goes and just terrible for classical CDs. I have to enter than manually about 60% of the time.

I believe Microsoft have their own database of CDs (in conjuction with someone else I can't remember), I don't think it gets the info from the CD - that's why it needs the net connection. Have you tried doing a manual search for it? It may be there, just not linking for some reason.

Wanted to update this , as I found today that Real Player 10 shows title tracks on both discs,,.
But all in all wasn't too happy with the two responses I got ( thanks ,,    )  ..,, But question still remains:  Is there a site to contribute for WMP .. ??  Or do they look after their interests??
