| | Posted: | | | | i know the people in the know about this are out there, so... why on disc 2 of the above is episode 105 between 111 and 113 and on disc 3 is episode 112 after 116? were they shown out of order and the dvds are sticking with the air dates? would there be any merit is watching the episodes in the correct numerical order? also--and i'm only asking so don't start screaming--why do the overviews for some of the discs contain such elaborate descriptions--4 to 5 paragraphs that detail the entire episode? i don't see this in any of the material included with the dvd set, only an alphabetical list of episodes with airdates and stardates. are these left over from years past? or is everyone too reluctant to cut the overviews back for fear an onslaught of outrage? just curious... krik  | | | | "Vampirism is still not a disease, Julia. | | Posted: | | | | Not at all uncommon, Krik. Many TV shows are not shown in Production Order, which can confuse things mightily.

For example, if you watched the series in production order you could see Tasha Yar die, only to have her back for one more episode as if nothing happened ("Skin Of Evil" has production code 122, the previously aired "Symbiosis" 123). In my experience you can savely assume that the order of episodes on the DVD is the order a series is intended to be watched. | | | | Michael |

Skip I think Tigi's point mainly was, that even air-date may not be the correct order... Usually the order may be restored for DVDs though. (Example: Firefly. They were aired in some weird order which messed up continuity, but on DVD they were finally presented in intended order.) | | | Achim [諾亞信； Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.

That tends to be more the case for more 'modern' productions since they often deliberately shoot out of order to accomodate actor availability etc. but since all scripts are prepared in advance they know what the transmission order will be.
