I'm always interested in finding good bargains for TV shows on DVD, so I'm starting this thread.

First entries are a real blast IMHO:

The Office (Season 1)
Amazon.com: 9,99 $

The Office (Season 2)
Amazon.com: 12,99 $

House, M.D. (Season 1)
Amazon.com: 12,99 $

House, M.D. (Season 2)
Amazon.com: 12,99 $

I recently ordered The Outer Limits Volumes 1-3 from Amazon.com for $49.99, but now it's $34.99.      I haven't even recieved it yet, so I sent an e-mail asking for a $15 refund.

Edit:
Got a response back from Amazon.com and they are going to credit me $15, since my order was so recent. So now I got The Outer Limits Volumes 1-3 for $34.99, when they sell in stores at $24.99 each.

I recently asked Amazon UK for a refund in a similar a case, and they granted it to me without problems (I love that store).

Amazon Germany goes even further: They have a lowest price guarantee for DVDs and Video Games. This means that if after your purchase you find a title cheaper in any store (no matter if online or in a shop) the price difference will be credited to your Amazon account for your next order. Of course we now have all kinds of Internet sites and forums dedicated to posting the lowest prices for any title in Germany. This way, you often get DVDs at Amazon for half their retail price.

An electronics store here used the same method, i think they were sued for misleading advertising.

Amazon UK.

Buffy Complete Collection is now down to 90 GBP (125 EUR / 185 USD). The previous price was about 114 GBP.

I did that several times and got it everytime without any problems, too.

Well, of course some Amazon competitors were griping, but this lowest price guarantee is now in place for over three years. At first it was installed for DVDs only, but has later been extended to Games, CDs and Software (and as I have recently seen, games consoles, too) - so it must have been a huge success for Amazon.

I was about to buy Dawn of the Dead (1978) (One of my all time fav. guilty pleasure flics) about 4 years ago when out of print used copies were going for $100 and up. I'm glad I waited!

I was kinda hesitant about asking for the difference, since I didn't see anything about in the Help section, so I just emailed them. I myself work in retail and at our store we have a policy, that if you buy something and it goes on sale within a 14 day period, you just bring in the reciept and we'll fix it for you. That's with competitor's price matching too, but it has to be the same thing minus the mail-in rebates, since we don't match them.
