| | Posted: | | | | I am looking for any suggestions to improve the visual appeal of my web site. I am not looking to hits. I don't want you click on ads. I don't think I have anything to sell. I just want to know if you think it is easy to navigate, makes sense, and is easy on the eyes. And if you have any improvement suggestions. You are just a group of people who's opinions I value. I would change the text colour in the centre pane so it stands out slightly more. The links at the top of the various sections don't stand out - it would be helpful if these were underlined (or had some other easy identification).
with the blog tab - the section dividers are too light. Try darken these and make the text on them light.
You could also consider adding some colour to the central section. (colour dividers?)
Same with series tabs.
Links tab - I thought this was links to other sites. Perhaps you can either rename this tab or put it as a link from the 'about' tab.
gallery - this is missing all the header information. It would be better if you could add this common information in.

| | Posted: | | | | Thanks for the help so far. The biggest issue is that I am using wordpress which makes it easy to do what I ant as far as posting stories and the such, but it makes the cosmetic part hard at times as you use themes made by others.
I did change the font to black; same with the links and underlined them (may tweak color later)
I did end up removing that top links tabs because I didnt like it in the first place.
I deactivated the plugin that created the social bookmark links for the time being because I don't like how they are right now either
I am looking at better dividing methods either color block or images, but not sure yet
And the Gallery part is a pain I haven't tackled yet. It is actually a totally different web app and havent had a chance to try and make it match the main site. | | | Schultzy - http://www.michaelschultz.net

Currently on the main page they are intermixed in order of what got posted last. There is also also a link to the writing under series on the top and one for blog. Ever thought of giving Joomla a try?

I like the chnages. its made a real difference to the blogs panel. you just need to do something similar for the stories section. | | | | Paul |
