| | Posted: | | | | My work had a very small movie thing where they showed movie clips, had popcorn, and had trivia. One of the question I am not sure of and never found out what their answer was.
It was in regards to who was the first female lead to kill a villain/bad guy in a scifi or horror movie.
Choices were:
Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween (1978)
Weaver in Alien (1979)
One of the ladies from Poltergeist
And then one other that was films later.
I went with Aliens based on the fact the she killed some aliens in the movie. I didn't do with Halloween even though it came out first because Michael Meyers came back for several sequels so he didn't really die.

Think that just leaves Weaver sending the Alien into space in the first film (judging by the year, I'm guessing that's what is meant. Aliens wasn't until 1986). Probably not known at the time was that the Alien probably didn't die from this. The mythos I've read in comics and novels and such says they just kind curl up and wait to land somewhere. Even one would consider Michael Myers dead at the end of the first film (despite one of the last shots showing an empty lawn where is body should be), it was Dr. Loomis who filled Michael up with bullets, not Laurie. The Poltergeist killed?    Definitely the alien in Alien. Sigourney is your lady! I don't know from 'mythos', but the Alien was attached to a cable and ended up in the back of the engine. | | Posted: | | | | It depends a little on how tricky they were... I'm not sure if the alien in 'Alien' can be considered a bad guy. Certainly it is the antagonist, but I'm not so sure if it's really a "bad guy"... And if "bad guy" was indeed the exact wording, it's even more likely it was a trick question since the alien isn't human, and shouldn't qualify to be a "guy" at all...
