As I was watching the news this morning this topic came up. This is more or less an FYI on people you might have to deal with in your day to day lives.

Psychopaths: since there is no actual diagnosis of this problem you should be aware of some warning signs.

Some warning signs:

glibness/superficial charm

failure to accept responsibility for their own actions

grandiose sense of self worth

need for stimulation/prone to boredom

pathological lying

conning/manipulative

lack of remorse or guilt

shallow emotional response

callous/lack of empathy

parasitic lifestyle

poor behavioral controls

promiscuous sexual behavior

early behavioral problems

lack of realistic long term goals

impulsivity

irresponsibility

many short term relationships

juvenile delinquency

revocation of conditional release

criminal versatility 

There is no sense in trying to argue with a person with this disorder as they can rarely be convinced that they are wrong, often saying that they are insulted when you question their integrity. The usual cause of this is because it smacks straight into their delusion of self worth.

This is not a complete list and a person doesn't have to show all the signs to be considered a psychopath. You should just be warned when dealing with one, as you never know what might set them off. There is no known cure for people who are considered psychopaths.

I just hope you don't know anybody with these warning signs.
