Skip This is now a subject to discussion and further investigation by "Bundesstelle für Flugunfalluntersuchung" (AFAIK like your NTSB). The decision to land or not is a subject to the pilots as well as the choice of the the runway. In Hamburg we have RWY 33 and RWY 23. Both runways were approved for landing. The German Pilots Association (Pilotenvereinigung Cockpit/VC) already criticized the choice of RWY 33. I read in a newspaper that a flight intructor said, that the landing configuration of the aircraft on final approach was not optimal. Latest infos say, that the landing was performed by the co-pilot and the go-around procedure by the pilot... The same day an Emirates Aircraft had 2 missed approches/go arounds on both runways and decided to return to Frankfurt due to panic on board. Maybe we will get more informations later. But nevertheless: the most dangerous issue when flying, is the way to the airport. ...i don't think i'm that young.... seriously though... whats an E Ticket? Many, MANY, years ago you had to buy tickets for the rides at Disneyland. The tickets came in different 'values' from 'A' to 'E'. An 'A' ticket would be for a 'kiddie' ride while the 'E' ticket was for the best rides. So, when someone says 'that was an E ticket ride', they mean it was thrilling, interesting or the best. If my memory serves, for example the Teacups in Fantasyland was an A tciket, Space Mountain was an E ticket. The entry to the park was a lot cheaper than it is today, in keeping with Walt's philosophy. There were kiosks scattered throughout the Parks where you could purchase additional ride tickets.
